Thanks guys. I hate office drama and this office has certainly had its share of it. It will be really great if I can get that promotion. I should hear something by the end of the week.

Me: Umm, no thanks.
Boss: Ok, so make sure you're here for 8pm Friday as we're doing blah blah blah. Saturday we will finish the testing so come in at 10am

Looks like I'll be making regular reports to my director and VP. That means I need to spoof up my image...nothing $400 at Mens Warehouse can't fix...

I suggest checking out Jos. A. Bank or Brooks Brothers for ties. I always feel like Mens Warehouse only carries these odd modern geometric ties that look like crap a year or two later. I've been burned a number of times in the past.

Thanks for the heads up. We do have a Jos A Banks here but not the other one you mentioned. I rely on those people to help me match stuff.

For instance, I had no idea sock color must ALWAYS match your pant color.

I'm not sure I would pay $89 - 175 for a tie at Brooks Brothers. You can pick up quality silk ties at higher-end department stores: Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Macy's, Bloomingdale's, etc. Just ask for assistance from someone working in the Men's department with colour matching your attire.

I am getting way too anxious about news on the new job...
People are stopping by my office more and more frequently to hear if I've had news!

They're not always that much, and BB has good sales (not to mention the outlet store if one's near you). For my money, and I wear ties every day, you can't find a better classic tie than BB. Certainly some cost more, but they're durable in terms of look and material.

My blood sugar has tested at under 100 3 times in the last 4 days, hope that becomes the norm and not the exception. Going to go get my bimonthly haul and some diabetic food in a few hours.
