Thinking the journalists here in Australia need to go out and do some Investigative journalism, and stop blowing up the story about Johnny Depp's dogs, Sheesh.

I'm wondering why anyone would buy a smart watch, whose battery last less than a day, when they could just buy a real watch, whose battery lasts over a year? There are some watches whose battery never dies, they are constantly being recharged just by moving your arm... beat that, smart watch companies!

I wonder why anyone would even bother with a watch anymore? Time...time is everywhere constantly tick-tocking away. Time is everywhere. On your phone, in your car, blah, blah, blah.

Oh and lastly, you do not understand what a smart watch is used for...it is much more than a device to tell you the time.

Why is YouTube filled with immature people whose volculabury consists of nothing more than dropping f-bombs?

A nice Rolex will last me several generations, it's something I can pass down to my children, whom will the pass it on to their children, and so forth. A gold smart watch will last me, if I'm lucky, 3 years tops before it's worthless.

What's better, a $10K Apple Watch which is junk in 1-3 years time, or a $5K Rolex that will last for hundreds of years?

i can't even express how much quicker i would choose a rolex over an apple watch (or any smart watch, for that matter).

a rolex is a classy timepiece. they (rolex watches, not the company) have been around for almost 100 years and the makers have basically perfected what a timepiece should be.

just sitting here eating breakfast and thinking about my friend who's mom passed away last night.

she was over 90 and had a full life. she wasn't in the best of health so they knew it would be soon. her family (children and grandchildren) were all with her when she passed so she was surrounded by love and they said she went very peacefully.

Hey Scar....I get it. Passing on treasures and heirlooms to the new generations is understandable. I'm not that sentimental. My Dad passed two years ago and I have his diamond Rolex and I hate it. Just not my taste...it's so tacky...especially the diamonds and gold. Although it truly defined my Father, it certainly does not define me.

But then again, I am not a watch person. I appreciate the house he left me more!

I have an old pocket watch my grandfather owned when in the army. It's stainless steel, not gold, but it's still a nice piece. And it still works, it's a wind-up one, no battery. When wound, it ticks away just fine. They just don't make things like they use to anymore. As old as that thing is, it works like it was new; flawlessly.
