Same here, and i never will go to any of them. My class had some of the most shallow, rich, snobbish and spoiled people I have ever known. Actually, the entire HS was/is like that. Once I left I never looked back. I only saved my diploma, everything else went in the trash.

I'm about the same age, and I was never invited to any high school reunion... did they do it at all, or just do it over Facebook and skipped anyone who wasn't on it? What happened to mailing people the old fashioned way!

I wondered the same.
I'm guessing he got his request. Too bad, he was entertaining at times.

I think they did the invites for my 10 year reunion through Facebook. That would probably explain why I didn't get an invite to mine.

My 10 year reunion invite came through the regular mail. I've seen groups on Facebook set up for various high school classes to keep in touch and for reunion news, so maybe they do them that way nowadays. Haven't found one yet for my class.

Amazing! A Hawk just swooped down on a Dove in my backyard, 10-12 feet from the chair I'm sitting in. The dove got free and flew into a tree right in the middle of the yard, the Hawk gave chase but couldn't get it. Bunch of flapping going on in the thick growth. The Hawk then flew off, came back and perched on the roof. Looked at me for a second, and flew off again. lol wow!

Yesterday I was looking out my back door (through the glass storm door) a huge Vulture landed on my fence about 20 ft from me, and the Dog next door ran over and chased it off.

I went to the back of my yard to see why the Vulture had landed there and saw a dead squirrel.

That's the closest I've ever been to a Vulture!

Speaking of Vultures, in the last 4-5 years in my area, they have learned to drag roadkill off to the side, rather than flay away when a car comes by. My whole life, I've never seen this. Maybe the Vultures are just stupid in my neck of the woods, but they're evolving. Before long, they'll probably put 2 and 2 together, and just start hunting and killing animals like little Dinosaurs.

I like to take when there's free/complimentary stuff.

Getting car serviced? They have bagels, muffins (cut into halves), drinks available.

I take two halves, a can of ice-t. Then when I leave, I take a bottled water. Last time I took a water and a half a muffin as well.

Ha. Free coffee while waiting to get you're oil changed, only downside is the lousy magazines to piddle with. One would think at a service station, they'd have more than just home improvement mags. Hello? Cars.

I was over on youtube checking out videos about drill bits...when the video for "Please Mr. Postman" showed up in the suggestions (I have NO idea why). I ended up watching various version of the song by the Beatles, Carpenters and others.

It's a song about waiting for a letter from a boyfriend or girlfriend.

I realized that this is one of the very few advantages of being "my" age. I remember exchanging letters with a high school girlfriend back in 1976...burned through a lot of 6 cent stamps . The relationship faded but I still have a couple of dozen handwritten, carefully composed letters reminding me that someone once went to a lot of trouble to keep in touch with me. Postal service being what it was, we could only exchange about one letter a week and every word had to mean something.

Forty years from now, will today's teenagers look back fondly on those text messages they exchanged with their first girlfriends?

My fiancee recently accepted a new position at work, better pay/hours but lots of travel as it's based out of Atlanta. We haven't seen each other in the last 3 weeks and just earlier this evening she called and said she's considering moving there rather than live out of a suitcase for weeks/months at a time. My employer has facilities all over and I could likely transfer to any of them but I have a daughter who wouldn't appreciate being uprooted to a new home/school, and family/friends locally who depend on me regularly. Although the company is based out of Atlanta, she's being trained to head up their office in the Poconos (PA), which is only a six hour drive from here. With our conflicting schedules we rarely saw each other during the week as it is, so I'm thinking our lives won't be impacted too much if she lived there and we stayed here during the week, and make the trip over the weekends. I just don't know what to do, obviously it'll take some serious considerations

That's a lot to deal with, but if you already have a semi long distance relationship I don't see this as a problem for you guys.
