Taking a real beating from Hurricane Irma. Power is flickering, hanging on by a thread. Here on the beachside of Daytona winds are up to around 80'ish mph or so and expect to last several more hours.

my mom/grandmother punished me with a switch, a belt, and/or a paddle...whichever one was handy.

sk33tr, my stepdad used to spank me with a belt and it was alright. But I thought Adrian's son was like four and he left big ol' marks. You just have to have and respect that line between discipline and child abuse.

I can't remember exactly what happened sk33tr but I thought there were welts left so it was more than just a little sting to make him think next time. You're right, you definitely don't want to do any long-term damage.

I have to leave my woman and I'm sad about it.

There's two fellas that I am working with who's spouses have cancer and another ailment that I don't recall. These two men are dealing with something far heavier than what I am.

I can't sit here feeling sorry for myself, which I wasn't, when others are facing something way worse than I am.

sitting here wondering why the school systems around here are closed tomorrow when there's no rain forecast. there was rain forecast for today, and they closed them for today and tomorrow because of the "hurricane" that was coming through this state.

this state, that is north of florida. this state, that only got storms out of it and barely any high winds.

florida? yeah, they deserve to be closed considering what they went through. but here? shit, no!

i've been to school when it was storming, lightning real bad, hailing, even snowing. but now, if it rains harder than a light sprinkle they're closing schools for 2 days. are people really that scared nowadays?

I'm sorry to hear that! Is it worst-case scenario for their spouses? I don't know anything about cancer really and what can be beaten and what can't. Hoping for the best!
