Motivation's at a low today, but it seems like a lotta folks are on cruise control for the holiday even though my company doesn't have off...I presume their kids are at home and they dealing with parental stuff.

same here. but i try to NOT have my mom's impatience. she has no patience; and she will readily admit it to anyone. she speaks her mind on anything and will readily tell you anything, even if it means hurting feelings. and i definitely got that part, lol. i try to be more patient as i know people are different, but sometimes i just can't be and will tell them what i think; without worrying about hurting their feelings. but sometimes it needs to be done. and she always taught me and my sister (and my nieces) to stand up for ourselves and not let anyone roll over us for any reason. she can come across as mean to some people for being that way. but no one will ever tell her anything and she just goes, "oh, ok". many men have tried simply because she's a woman, but she quickly put them in their place. my sister and niece's are the same way. they will flat tell you how it is. my sister is more laid back about it, but she can be the "big dawg" when she needs to be.

i used to have a MUCH shorter fuse when i was younger. i was ready to fight anyone who said anything that remotely set me off. even the tiniest little thing would set me off and i was ready to throw down. now, i just let it go until it's time to not let it go. as my older (my mom's age) cousin told me, "walk away as much as you can. but when it's time to be a bear, be a grizzly." so i try to let things go when possible.

but my mom is a strong woman and is definitely the one that had the most influence on me. she certainly didn't raise her kids to be cowards, lol.

hoping my cat is ok.

she went out about 6:20 this morning (almost 2 hours ago) and hasn't returned. she usually doesn't stay out this long with it's this cold.

plus, twice i've seen a hawk close by. and both times it was VERY close. so i'm hoping she's ok.....

Thinking about how I probably should've started reading chapter 1 in my social work textbook, something to remedy after the dentist. Oh well, back to work!
