I finally got to see Billy Joel at the recent first concert opener at SunTrust Park (home of the Atlanta Braves) and it was fantastic. Elton is really the only other piano-playing legend/superstar that I like enough to include on my must-see concert list so it's finally come down to this...I've just gotta bite the bullet, plunk down the money and do it.

Went to Best Buy and bought a Vizio E series. Brought it home. Not enough control over settings, picture looked terrible and the remote sucked.

We have a 65" LG UJ7700 in the living room. So, I bought a 55" version of that.

Not the best TV on the market, but it works with our budget and I have more options with the settings. Not only that, I love the smart TV with the remote.

Much happier with the picture, too.

I've had my eye on a Vizio 4K UHD P65 set. It's only $1199 at Costco right now. Problem is the 50" Panasonic plasma I have in the living room is not only still putting out a fantastic picture but it is unflappable as I've never had a problem with it.

billy joel is on my list to hopefully see, one day. i've been told he's like elton john in that he's just as good or better live, than on any album.

i haven't been to many concerts and really don't have the money to go to them on any regular basis. but if he ever comes to town (or close-enough), then i may have to look at a way (or ways) of getting some extra money together to buy some tickets.

on a related note, the eagles will be very close to here in april; 4 days after my mom's birthday. i'd love to be able to take her to see them. she's a big fan and saw them with my dad when they were dating....way back when, lol. they also went to a doobie brothers concert. wouldn't mind seeing them, too. and they start a tour with steely dan in april. but the closest they come is atlanta and that's a bit too far for me to drive for a concert.

maybe one day.....

Trust me when I say she probably hates it more than you. My life is ten times better when I got the plumbing removed a few years back. I'm sure the husband is relieved. LOL

Really need to update my collection, but now I have 50ish discs to add and it's a little intimidating... especially since the barcode scanner generally requires 2-3 scans before it actually works. Probably would help if I had better lighting and a less shaky hand though. *shrug*

My story is the other way. I bought an E series 800 Sony, but brought it back for E 900. Now Sony has announced the F series, with mine in the bedroom less than a month, haha.
I'll make sure the future living room tv is not last years model.

I'd like to upgrade the living room TV to an OLED. I could sell that one for about $900, but I don't think I could convince the husband unless the 65" OLED price dropped a few hundred dollars more.

I called P-Rock a TWAT in a B-Movie thread, words were traded and instead of temporarily suspending both of us, a admin or moderator put me in the corner for 24 hours. Of course they cleaned up after themselves, but stupidly left where he called me a ****ing snowflake in one of my posts

The fact that I booted last night. While I didn't get a lot of sleep I seem to be feeling better. Days like today, granted first time being sick since April 2013, are why I should probably have my boss' phone number. Hope the Pepto Bismol I took a little while ago and will take again with breakfast will help.
