Why do governments play a game in which bits of paper have value? Money is worthless, but we place a false worth on it. Why?

I always hate signing my name, on papers, receipts, etc., because I can just never seem to make it look good. But I especially hate signing it on the back of new credit cards. The little area they provide for you to sign on never seems to actually like any type of pen you use, plus since I can never sign my name properly anyway, it always looks worse on a credit card. Which, of course, then always makes me worried that whenever a cashier checks for it they won't be able to tell it's the correct name and will just cause problems for me at the register.

Do they actually check in California? I’ve never had my signature checked. In fact you don’t really have to sign your name, any mark will do. I once drew a smilie face and it was accepted and my credit card was charged as normal.

I am very self conscious about my signature. I always wonder what I'll do when I'm famous and have to sign a lot of autographs.

I used to sign the back of my cards but I learned a long time ago while working retail that it's actually more secure to NOT sign them. When you use them at the store, and a cashier has to check the back, they never take the time to actually verify the signature is the same as the name on the card but not being signed they are supposed to verify the cardholder with a valid ID. Of course you've got careless retail employees that don't know correct policies or simply don't care so they don't even bother checking to see if the card is signed.'

Now on the subject, like Scarface32 said, when you sign at purchase to authorize the charge, it really doesn't matter if your name is legible or not. I usually just do a squiggly across the line or my initials. Never had a charge come back unauthorized.

I hate having a beard. I get those dry, itchy flakes in my facial hair. It's annoying AF as I want to look my age; but if I'm to shave it off I have such a freaking baby face.

Any helpful tips to prevent this?

It has its positives, I know. But I'm sick of girls calling me 'cute.' Like, they ain't interested in cute boys, they want sexy men.

Below is a comparison of me with and without facial hair.

Well personally I like cute guys. I don't have to have a guy that you can see his rib cage when he coughs. If he has a cute smile. I melt.

^ THIS. I have "CHECK ID" in bold letters written in a red Sharpie on the back of mine and it gets checked quite frequently.
