![]() Only the top 2% of this country are privileged. Those top 2% lobby to lower taxes on the rich, claiming "trickle down" economics, but that never works. Maybe if that top 2% wasn’t so greedy, and paid their fair share of taxes, and gave tax breaks to the other 98%, then we could really lift people up out of poverty. |

How does everyone feel about the 2011 Nicktoons show, Voltron Force, using the word "Voltron" as a verb as well as a noun? Unlike other versions of the show, which used the phrase "let’s form Voltron," the 2011 show used the phrase "let’s Voltron" in which case "Voltron" is being used as the action of transformation in the context of said phrase.

When inquiring about details of a product with a third party seller on Amazon, like if it still has the slipcover or the booklet, this type of response is all too common:
Good afternoon, thank you for your email. Unfortunately all of our stock is stored in our warehouse which I am unable to access. Please accept my sincere apologies for being unable to retain this information. I just don't get it. Why can't they just text, phone or email someone at the warehouse that has access to their stock? I don't understand why this is seemingly impossible in this day & age of mass communication & easily obtainable information? Why is it apparently extremely difficult to have the capacity to provide product details? This could be damn near avoided altogether if when originally stocking the item they simply note if there is a slipcover &/or booklet or not. This information could then be provided in the product details for said item before anyone purchases it, therefore avoiding these types of inquiries in the first place. To me, that seems to be the logical & efficient way of stocking items. |

How should I feel when telling a homeless veteran asking for cash that I have no money on me as I am leaving Best Buy with a bag in my hand?
I'm not lying, I don't carry cash on me. Only use credit cards. |

but no one can say how you should feel about telling them you have no cash while you're leaving an electronics store with items. yes, it looks like you're lying, even when you're not. offer to go buy him some food, if he desires (and if you have the extra money). |

But more realistically, just be honest and say you don't have any cash on you, only credit, and then offer to buy him a meal. |

seriously thinking about getting in touch with a credit counseling service.
my bills aren't getting any smaller, but my paycheck certainly is. my mom, who is retired and on social security, makes more than i do every month. and by a pretty good margin. and the last time i looked, if i were to retire today and go on social security (not that i'm of retirement age), i would make less than half as much as her, but STILL make more than twice in a month than i currently make. how sad is that? and it's not like i don't try to find a better or higher-paying job; or even one that offers more hours. because i do. i just never get any type of call-back for an interview or most times never even a "thanks for applying" response. hell, i've applied many times for other positions at my current place of employment. and it's the same thing there. not even a response when i fill out the form and attach my resume. and i've been there longer and know a LOT of stuff about the company. and sometimes even more than someone who gets hired into the position. sorry for complaining in this thread. it's just that what was on my mind when i started this post opened up a floodgate of other crap. we now return you to your regularly scheduled thread..... |

i think it went pretty well. they told me there were about 5 other people they had to interview (don't know if i was the first to interview or what) and that'd it take about 2 weeks to get everything completed with the interviews and paperwork.
i had to take a wonderlic test and an assessment exam. both were simple and quick. don't know how i scored or anything 'cause they don't tell you that. you just have to send the results to whomever set up the tests. |
