Of course I was 19 when I first started, and as a whole most are between the ages of 19-23. I know I tend to dwell on the past, because the present isn't fun, and the future... is bleak?

I went to a very small school growing up that I did not enjoy. I didn't have many friends, had a few closer ones, sort of. I didn't do the whole 2 or 4 year college thing like most do and make the most of it. (Went 2 years to a local community college before transferring my credits to a school that offered the program online). So, Cedar Point was my thing - it gave me freedom and a sense of a new beginning. I had friends, I felt like I belonged, and it overall was a great time.

But I last worked there in 2009 - that transition from a summer job to finding my career. And since then it's been back to the usual - hardly any friends. The people I got to know well at Cedar Point are out of the picture. I no longer matter nor exist.

We'd often go to a bar called Louie's. It was within walking distance from the employee dorms. Basically every Thursday and Sunday nights.. lol. All of today's music, cheap alcohol in big ass styrofoam cups, etc. I just wish I could go back to that scene, you know? Being.. I guess young, with friends, and being part of a crowd just enjoying the moment.

People say that I'm their friend and we'll hang out from time to time, but it is always me wanting to hang out with them. I haven't gotten a call/text to hang out in a few years and it drives me nuts. i've taken up mountain biking over the last few years to get out and do something fun and that's been great, but it's still great to have friends and I wish my 'friends' would be there you know?
Bottom line is that people suck and unfortunately that sometimes means friends as well. In fact, I've had to set a few of mine straight as of late for pulling bullsh*t with me from time to time. It sucks, but it happens and it also sends them the message that you won't tolerate being mistreated. The fact of the matter is that the older you get, friends come and go and hopefully you can hang onto a handful of good ones that stick with you through thick and thin. That being said, these days I just tend to do WTF I wanna do when I wanna do it and if folks wanna come along for the ride, great. If not, also great cuz I'm gonna do it anyway and not let who's with me define how good of a time I have (kind of a "love the one you're with" kinda thing)! I know, easy for me to say without being married and/or with kids, but the past is what it is, it's unchangeable and it's never gonna come back, so why not focus on making the present kick ass as best as one possibly can?

My Advice. Start drinking heavily.

Seriously tho, hope you get out of this funk soon. Spring is here. It's no fun to be a funk. Unless your George Clinton or Bootsy Collins.

Let me get this straight.

You asked for her number.

She gave you what was assumed her number.

Then you called. Found out it was a radio station.

And won Harlem Globetrotter tickets?

I still believe we need a BR.com meetup, and very soon I might add.

Lol. I remember seeing the original Globetroters with Meadowlark Lemon and Curly Neal when I was but a wee lad.

What's on my mind? You want to know what's on my mind, do ya?

It's a nice sunny DRAFT DAY! And you want to know something, ya?

THE DETROIT LIONS WILL STEAL THE DRAFT TONIGHT. THAT'S RIGHT! AND WHEN WE'RE DONE, WHEN THE DUST SETTLES OFF, TEAMS WILL BE WONDERING...

"How the hell did that happen?"

I was cleaning up the backyard a couple days ago, and in the left corner a little brown snake came out from the dead foliage. May have been too cold to care, but it didn't seem to mind me. His name is Popcorn.
