Mistakenly posted this in another thread yesterday. Meet with the roofer that the seller is working with today and picked out the color we think will compliment our new home, merlot. We’ll pay the difference between what they’re insurance will cover and it, but I think it’s better for us. Follow up. Looks like the owner has agreed and all we have to do is drop off the check for the difference.

Luckily they are just down the road from where we are staying. Might take a drive out to the house tomorrow to see if the foundation work has started. Only a couple more weeks until we start moving in. The Mrs wants to hire someone to unpack the trailer, but I kind of feel like unloading will be easier than packing it up was. Plus, we didn't bring much furniture. It is mostly boxes and totes.

Scratching my head as to why my internet has been dropping out constantly over the last few days. Tried everything I possibly can. It's gotta be an ISP issue. Hopefully they get it straightened out soon. I don't pay only to use my internet at THEIR convenience.

Call them. Be prepared for them to constantly say it's on your end until you buckle down and tell them to do their ****ing jobs and actually look into it.

I just noticed Spectrum is finally offering over 100MB/s in my area. You can only tell (because why would they tell you) by going onto the website, selecting new customer and picking their modem. Then the 400 and 900+ (advertised as Gigabit but it's not) tiers show up. Apparently you cannot use your own equipment with those speeds. This is also their way of forcing a tech to your home for $200 for new AND existing customers as an "installation fee."

**** right off. It's not even asymmetric so I have no use for those higher speeds but still.

There’s a difference between being friends and being friendzoned. I’m all for not being the guy she cheats with, but don’t take pride in the friendzone. If she’s keeping you around as a maybe or to keep the boyfriend jealous, move on.

If you can handle just being friends with someone, great.

But, if you are "friends" with someone but want something more then you're not really being a good friend because you have an ulterior motive. You aren't being a good friend to them or true to yourself.

In the last 4 years, there was only 1 Prime Day where I bought anything. Most of their deals are crap, but you don't really know until you check it out. I'll be browsing Amazon in 3 day to see what deals they have, but I'm not expecting much.

I don't even bother trying to befriend girls anymore, never tends to go well. Most girls can't see past the fact that I'm a guy to be friends with me. Then again maybe I just need to meet new girls who aren't co-workers and fellow employees. We'll see how my trip to California goes.

wondering how drug companies get away with charging so much vs. the generic brands.

for instance...

i have to take an antihistamine daily (prescribed by my allergist). if i bought a name-brand version, i'd spend anywhere from $20 to $40 a pack/bottle. and that's for MAYBE 30 tablets.

but i can get it in generic form and pay $7.99 for 600 tablets. that's a year and almost 8 months worth of tablets (1 per day).

guess which one i'm going with.....
