Videos like this make me realize that 90% of America probably doesn't watch movies on a regular basis and know every celeb like we do on this forum.

Mom and the wife and I went to a Pow Wow yesterday and it was awesome! The dancing and the music just blows me away.
That happens every time I go to those and I wonder why I have these huge feelings in my heart. I constantly tear up.
I don’t know what it is, but I love it.

I made the mistake of swinging by the house last night. So now I’m kind of stressing and wondering how the crew we hired to do some work inside the house is going to be done by tomorrow? The main painting is done, but there are areas that need to be done still. Not to mention, installing the flooring, ceiling fans, replacing light/wall sockets and cleaning up the windows. We were going to try and get moved in before my wife left for Nashville, but that’s not looking too good. MiL isn’t helping the stress factor. Wondering what my wife has planned to insure this shit gets done. Because if I talk to them I’m going to go sideways

wondering why they don't make resealable potato chip bags.

i was reading one (very valid) reason as to why...but there is a way to do it that should eliminate one of the issues that was addressed.

my mom buys croutons for her salad (she makes a salad just about every day to eat for dinner). the bag they come in is a resealable bag. it's designed so you have to tear off a small strip at the top, and the resealable part is below that tear-off strip. also, the sliced cheese i buy comes with the same type of closure system; you tear off the small strip at the top and you can then reseal the package after opening.

so why can't they make potato chip bags like this. it would certainly help in keeping the chips fresh for longer without having to fold the bag and put a clip on it to try and keep the chips fresh.

I can’t tell you how many bags of chips my parents have in the kitchen that are folded and clipped. Granted, this method does allow you to conserve space as you get toward the bottom of the bag; however, I don’t think it fully seals the bag to increase longevity.

same

i have 3 bags currently that have been opened (potato chips, cool ranch doritos, and tostitos) and have clips on them.

i've thought about getting some of these...

[Show spoiler]

...and then put the chips in there once the bag has been opened. and it has the added benefit of being easier to store and not worry about a bag tumbling out of the cabinet when you open the door (that's they way it is in my small pantry, lol).

i have a similar container for my cereal. it's big enough to hold an entire family-size box of cheerios (honey nut...my cereal of choice), and it keeps the cereal nice and fresh for a pretty long time.

I have some of those very same containers for cereal, cookies, and candy, and they work well. I’ll have to try them with chips and see how well they work.

Several people drowned at the beach in town today, and even more are currently hospitalized and in serious condition. Very sad to lose your life because of something like this. The warnings are no joke, so when they go out, I wish the tourists would take them more seriously. No one should die having fun on vacation.

Wondering if one of the movers we hired to unpack the trailer took a few things? I went through my comics and didn’t see The New Teen Titans #1. I’m hoping it and my long box are just somewhere in the house, but it isn’t like me to misplace my collectibles. I’m really regretting I didn’t get in the trailer to supervise once they got to my tots. I know it is just things, but a lot of what I still have has sentimental value too.

Potato chips are meant to be consumed within 24 hours of opening the bag - preferably in one sitting. Of course, anyone who eats an entire large bag of chips by themselves in one sitting is nuts lol

Just woke up, due to the early wake up time yesterday I was up for 21 hours, hope 8 hours of sleep was enough. Chilling a bit before I get dressed then eat breakfast and get my day started. Need to call the company who ran my 401k until I stopped contributing to it so I can get my funds out. I want the $ since I need stuff for school and to pay for other things while I wait for $ to start coming in from my new/old job. Balance is almost $9000, hopefully I can get most of it, be disappointing if penalties and whatnot eat the majority of it. Heard from my former HR department that the best bet might be to roll the balance over into a 401k with my bank. At least I can finally get to it, ridiculous that I was unable to do so while I was employed.

Yeesh, lot more stuff involved in getting my 401k funds out, should've done more about this either during my California trip or before. Oh well, live and learn, just hope I get it soon, sounds like there's at least a 30% penalty, if not more since some funds may just go back to LCDF. Oh well, at this point I'd settle for $3000+, which would still be a big help.

Just be careful not to spend everything. When you do your taxes next year, that may be considered extra income that you will have to account for on top of the penalty.

truth

after my dad died and my mom got his 401k and benefits from his work, she put it in some place that would actually charge her a fee every time she drew money out of it. and she was told that she was being charged taxes on it to make filing the following year easier.

well, it wasn't and they didn't do something right 'cause she had to pay over $13,000 to the irs. yes...$13,000.

also, every time she took money out, they'd treat her like a child, talking down to her in a condescending tone. and every time, she had to lay into them just to get HER money.

i can tell you this, if i ever have a large amount of money like that, i'd just put it in a bank account and let it draw interest. financial institutions that charge you a fee for drawing out YOUR money is just asinine.

Yeah at the very least I want my textbooks and a bit of a safety cushion due to lowered income. My previous hourly rate at LCDF was $10.97, guessing it will be $9.45 at best now. At least it's minimally $.90 more an hour than I was making there last time. Hope it's full time or close to it, I know how restaurant hours can fluctuate, even for good employees. Filling out the surrender form now before lunch, going to take it and a blank copy with me to HR after I eat before work. Actually I may wait till tomorrow so I'm not cutting it so close.

Looking at some pics of Hiroshima in an article on MSN and wishing I had gotten out more when I was stationed in Japan. I went off base some but not as much as I should have. Did go to Hiroshima a couple times and would like to return someday although Asian travel isn't at the top of my list.

It's going to be awhile before I get back to Europe but I don't see any reason why I can't start thinking about my next trip. For my third trip, I had been thinking of going to one of the countries in the below pic. I have a feeling I'd like to keep it somewhere in or near Eastern Europe. Poland, Belarus, Serbia. A smart choice would probably be to go somewhere where I know someone (online) so that I can meet them. I've known this girl from Slovenia for 10 years now and would like to meet her someday. Met this cool highschool kid from Sarajevo, Bosnia so that would be cool to go there. So many places, so little time!
