I'm thinking about opening this movie for the first time and watching it. I bought this movie almost a year ago and it has been sitting on my shelf.

I kinda want to use the Whiskey Stones, too.

Whoa. I've been sleeping on inexpensive mattresses purchased, provided or given away by others most of my life and now the time has come for me to buy my own and I'm absolutely flabbergasted. Are there really big differences between a $200, $800, or $2,000 mattress? It's all coils and springs, ain't it? Are the coils in a $2,000 mattress made with exotic materials or something?

$200 - thin covering, coils in your back, little support.
$800 - thicker, better, solid - lasts 10 years or so before issues
$2000 - usually a specific type of foam, high quality - solid investment, lasts a long time

I dunno how old you are, but don't buy cheap furniture or mattresses unless you have to. It's not worth it in the long run.

In 2009 Bob’s was having a sale, I got a full memory foam mattress, foundation, and wood frame for $600.

I agree with Groot, test out all the mattresses and don't settle for something just cause it's cheaper. I can usually sleep on anything but I do like more of a firm mattress.

Wow, we've never paid more than $900 for a new mattress set. We've had ours a few years now, probably going on 10 and it's still as comfortable as the day we bought it.

She should. She wants to be with her guy.

I like it. You're fine. No Italians were killed when you consumed it

I like listening to this song.

"I find it hard to say the things I want to say the most
Find a little bit of steady as I get close
Find a balance in the middle of the chaos
Send me low, send me high, send me never demigod
I remember walking in the cold of November
Hoping that I make it to the end of December
27 years and the end of my mind
But holding to the thought of another time
But looking to the ways at the ones before me
Looking for the path of the young and lonely
I don't want to hear about what to do
I don’t want to do it just to do it for you

Hello, hello
Let me tell you what it's like to be a zero, zero
Let me show you what it's like to always feel, feel
Like I’m empty and there's nothing really real, real
I'm looking for a way out"

zero by imagine dragons

A letter from Huxley to Orwell @Brave New World vs. 1984
[Show spoiler]Wrightwood. California.
21 October, 1949

Dear Mr. Orwell,

It was very kind of you to tell your publishers to send me a copy of your book. It arrived as I was in the midst of a piece of work that required much reading and consulting of references; and since poor sight makes it necessary for me to ration my reading, I had to wait a long time before being able to embark on Nineteen Eighty-Four. Agreeing with all that the critics have written of it, I need not tell you, yet once more, how fine and how profoundly important the book is. May I speak instead of the thing with which the book deals — the ultimate revolution?

The first hints of a philosophy of the ultimate revolution — the revolution which lies beyond politics and economics, and which aims at total subversion of the individual's psychology and physiology — are to be found in the Marquis de Sade, who regarded himself as the continuator, the consummator, of Robespierre and Babeuf. The philosophy of the ruling minority in Nineteen Eighty-Four is a sadism which has been carried to its logical conclusion by going beyond sex and denying it. Whether in actual fact the policy of the boot-on-the-face can go on indefinitely seems doubtful. My own belief is that the ruling oligarchy will find less arduous and wasteful ways of governing and of satisfying its lust for power, and these ways will resemble those which I described in Brave New World.

I have had occasion recently to look into the history of animal magnetism and hypnotism, and have been greatly struck by the way in which, for a hundred and fifty years, the world has refused to take serious cognizance of the discoveries of Mesmer, Braid, Esdaile, and the rest. Partly because of the prevailing materialism and partly because of prevailing respectability, nineteenth-century philosophers and men of science were not willing to investigate the odder facts of psychology for practical men, such as politicians, soldiers and policemen, to apply in the field of government. Thanks to the voluntary ignorance of our fathers, the advent of the ultimate revolution was delayed for five or six generations.

Another lucky accident was Freud's inability to hypnotize successfully and his consequent disparagement of hypnotism. This delayed the general application of hypnotism to psychiatry for at least forty years. But now psycho-analysis is being combined with hypnosis; and hypnosis has been made easy and indefinitely extensible through the use of barbiturates, which induce a hypnoid and suggestible state in even the most recalcitrant subjects. Within the next generation I believe that the world's rulers will discover that infant conditioning and narco-hypnosis are more efficient, as instruments of government, than clubs and prisons, and that the lust for power can be just as completely satisfied by suggesting people into loving their servitude as by flogging and kicking them into obedience.

In other words, I feel that the nightmare of Nineteen Eighty-Four is destined to modulate into the nightmare of a world having more resemblance to that which I imagined in Brave New World. The change will be brought about as a result of a felt need for increased efficiency. Meanwhile, of course, there may be a large scale biological and atomic war — in which case we shall have nightmares of other and scarcely imaginable kinds.

Thank you once again for the book.

Yours sincerely,

Aldous Huxley

I think everyone should have a nice watch. It just looks weird when I wear a Fitbit when I'm wearing a suit.

sk33tr, I have always worn Casio, nothing as expensive as the one you posted though. They are such a reliable watch. My cousin has a simple, digital Casio he's worn for 3 years at his job (Works for the city in Public Works Department), and has banged it up so many times, yet it's still going strong. That watch is practically indestructible lol.

I kinda miss wearing a watch. Haven't worn one in over a year (been using my iPhone for checking the time). I know a few people who own smart watches (Apple and Samsung), but I can't justify one of those. I'll stick to my phone for now.

You forget how annoying entering passwords can be, until you change yours and then have to enter it again on a bunch of stuff.

Changed my Google password last night because a device I didn’t own logged in. Then I had to re-enter my password for the email app on my desktop computer, my phone, and my tablet. I tried going to YouTube just now, have to re-enter it again there as well.

When will all these non-problem first-world problems end? I’m like so slightly inconvenient.

I've worn a cheap $6 watch for over 4 years, my last one was a similar cheap model which lasted 6 years before the band broke. I wear it under water, in all climates (to include the -30F freezer at work), it keeps ticking away. But like i said I never expect the band to last very long, still 6 years for a $6 watch (actually my last one may have been cheaper than that back then) is really good for something that says "made in china".
