Not a single time has anyone said anything to me when buying a movie, thankfully. If anyone ever judged me for buying a movie, I'd probably go off on them. No employee at a register (especially somewhere like Walmart) should be judging a customer.

No, but discussing a movie with a clerk is the last thing I wanna do. Just want to pay and get outta there quick. Funny, as ardent a film fan as I am, I don't like talking about them, especially with people who are indifferent about the subject but may just be looking to break the ice. Don't know why that is.

When we had a music store here, I enjoyed talking music with the clerks.
I saw one of the clerks that I used to speak with a couple of years ago and she mentioned that she missed that part of her old job.
I miss that too.

i'm the same way.

i've left my wallet at home before when i've gone to work. i usually don't need my wallet at work since i can use my phone to pay for stuff so i rarely go back to get it.
but the store where i buy groceries is a membership store and i have to have that card to purchase things there.

oh, and i know what ccw means. i'm a carrier, as well.

When I have to go to gamestop, the cashiers always break into their spiel about "they played it" or "man you need the season pass for that. some great stuff is coming for it." and slowing they work their way into insurance and preording and the money shot....POWER UP REWARDS membership.

It always remind me of how guys who work at gas station get held up and decide to fight the burglar. Unless its your name on the side of the building....why risk it?

In all my years of going to Gamestop, not once have I ever agreed to becoming a Powerup Rewards member, purchasing a season pass, buying a game guide, purchasing a protection plan, or putting down a pre-order for a game. I go in there to buy a certain game and I'm gone. Ask me all you want because I get it's part of your job, but I'm going to vehemently tell you no every single time no matter what without fail.

@sk33tr every now and again I forget my wallet while driving to the liquor store, though seldom do I give up the mission. Also, the store I use is just at 5 miles away, so it's only a slight annoyance. Merry Christmas everyone, incase I don't show up for a few days.

i've forgotten it a couple times going to work. i never worried about it since i knew i wouldn't need it for anything while there. and yes, not having your license on you if you're pulled over might be disconcerting for most people. but usually a truthful explanation to the cops will usually have them sending you on your way with the "just be careful on the way home" speech; which has happened to me, before.

i do wonder, though, how long it will before having a digital license will be sufficient. having digital proof of insurance is widely accepted now (at least in my state it is) so you don't even need to carry an insurance card or physical proof, anymore. so i'm wondering how long it will be before a digital license will be accepted.

I didn't know a digital license is a thing, seems reasonable. I got pulled over last month because my license plate expired in 2010, but my inspection sticker is up to date. The cop laughed and said he couldn't believe I hadn't been pulled over in all those years, and didn't know why I was able to get the car inspected. I laughed too but he still gave me a ticket. Costs almost $300. I wasn't laughing anymore.

The license plate itself - not the license tag - can expire in your state? Or am I misunderstanding? We don't have car inspections in this state, just have to pay the yearly tag/sticker within 30 days of your birthday.

Yes, the plates expired. In my lifetime the plates have changed maybe 3 times, I have no idea why. Just a mandated design change for some reason. The ***** of this whole situation though, is I had the plates in my kitchen drawer but forgot to change them out years ago. I thought they were plates from my old car.

The officer who pulled me over was a young buck, chances are if it'd been a seasoned officer he would have just told me to get it sorted. I'm think it's because my car is so rad, and he was jelly af.
