First day back at the office since before the football season and yeah, it sucks...weird smells (food, farts and otherwise), constant coughing and sniffling and no one fun to talk to.

I have noticed it more in my Facebook feed too.

I know I was just thinking the other day how everyone on Youtube seems to be begging for Patreon money now too.

while that is annoying, at least i know the reason behind it.

and even then, now patreon is starting to do things that are causing people to make less and less money using their service.

and while i can't go into a whole lot of detail, here, as to why. just know that a lot of it is politically motivated....on both youtube AND patreon.


to me, it all boils down to a LOT of people trying to make money by doing the least amount of work, possible. they look at youtube content creators who have over 5 million subs or more and think, "how hard can it be? i can do that." and then they find out that content creation isn't as easy as they thought and they fail to keep people engaged and, therefore, lose subs. and that leads to less views, and that leads to less money, and that leads to begging for money through other sources like patreon. and when i say "the least amount of work possible", i mean by their perception. they fail to recognize the amount of time it takes to

*record the actual video (which is RARELY done in one take without messing up)
*sync audio with video if they use an external mic
*adding background music (if applicable)
*inserting voice-overs (which would require another recording AFTER the initial video is recorded)
*adding in effects (if applicable)
*editing the original recorded file to make it relevant to the topic and keep within a decent amount of time
*etc.

they think they can just record a 3-minute video, upload it, and be done. and then wonder why no one is watching their content or it's getting more dislikes than likes.

and then youtube changes their monetary policies and a bunch of people start to lose $$$ because of it. and then they realize that the time they've spent trying to create a channel that makes them money is not really worth it anymore. but instead of shutting down the channel and going out and getting an actual job, they start to tell their subscribers to become a patron and donate to their patreon account.

If I were an employer looking to hire people, my first question to the candidates would be "do you smoke?" Automatic disqualification. How do people get any work done if they're constantly going out for a smoke? I work the concierge desk at a commercial building and I always see the same jerks coming and going every 15 minutes to smoke. It's crazy

I woke up this morning with my ears ringing, and I've been almost deaf all day. They stopped ringing and now everything is muffled. It's so bad, I had a physical reaction at the grocery store, during checkout. While talking to the cashier, I could hear myself talking but it was like I was listening to someone else saying my words. My balance is a little wonky too.

Ouch, that's harsh. I'd just say they could only smoke on their designated breaks.

Diehard smokers don't stick to rules, though. When you gotta smoke, you smoke. I've literally seen some of the worst addicts come down up to 3 times an hour. Poor souls.

Oh I remember those days ... Glad they are gone now ...

I tried a couple of times over a 5 year period to stop by using the pills than the patches.
Than one day I was in my Cherokee, and I went to get a smoke out of the pack but the pack was empty.....

Instead of continuing straight ( to the store ) I turned left and went home....

And haven't had a cigarette since, weird

Now I can tell a smoker by the smell, I asked my wife not too long ago when a smoker walked by us in the store..
"Is that how I smelled?" I asked, and Yuuup! Was her answer
