All that's on my mind right now is packing and moving. I know I'm a good 2-3 months out from my move but I'm just so excited to leave this state that I can't stop thinking about it, lol. That and I keep strategizing how I'll pack things. After my cruddy packing of my movie/TV collection in my last move (that resulted in some slipcovers being ripped and damaged), I'm looking up videos on how to pack my collection. I've even bought packing paper after seeing 2 videos utilizing it for packing DVDs/blus and books.

I'm gonna start tackling my movie/TV collection as a whole tonight as I've gotten to the point that I've ran out of space on my two shelves that hold over 300+ blus/DVDs each. I've been leaving my purchases in literal plastic bags on the floor in my closet and some on the dining room table. It's becoming a bit much -- and I'm not planning on buying new storage for my collection until after I move since I'm tossing my old shelves anyway -- and overall I just want the overflow out of my line of vision. I have my collection on Vudu to tide me over in the meantime anyway, so it's not like I'll need to scoop any of these movies out to watch anytime soon.

But seriously. I'm counting down the days until I'm out of here!

They smell it. Also usually a case of "I want what I can't have."

As was already said and I missed it. It's true though. You start giving those other girls any attention and they'll immediately shut off. I've seen it a million times.

always hated the whole thing of packing before moving. i didn't mind the unpacking, though. it gives you a chance to make sure everything is cleaned really well before it was put where it goes...after the move. and i always wound up with stuff still in boxes as i didn't want to unpack everything. not 'cause i didn't wanna do it, i just felt like i didn't need all that stuff sitting out taking up space i might not have. like now, i have about 15 boxes of stuff in my attic that i can't put out 'cause i don't have the room. but maybe one day i will so i can put it all out. it's mainly collectibles (non-movie-related stuff) and some framed pictures (again, non-movie-related stuff).

My very large movie collection is the main reason holding me back from moving out of the slum I'm in now. My last move was somewhat traumatic and I do NOT want to relive that. How do you move thousands of movies on a budget? Don't ask lol.

Fortunately, the only damage suffered during the move was I used tape (don't remember which kind) to secure some of my collectibles and now I've got some ugly leftover residue on some stuff. My Walking Dead Season 3 fish tank is in the worst shape but it's still not too terrible.

Same here!!! I've actually been very bad about unpacking though. I've been unlucky enough to move a lot (albeit in the same state and around the same area/city) within the last few years. Just moved into my current place in March of last year, before that I moved into my last place in March of the year before that (2017), and then before that I was living in a hell house for 2-3 years. I just have gotten so used to moving that I can't commit to fully unpacking. I really thought this would be it but I really don't like my current neighborhood and the rent is kind of insane in the current house I'm in. I've actually already packed a LOT of my stuff already. I've pretty much been lazy and living out of plastic moving bins the past 2 years or so anyway so no difference. Also makes it 10x less stressful when I get closer as I'm a terrible procrastinator. The last 2 moves I still packed stuff the night before and day of because I waited too long. Since this is an out of state move, that's not really an option this time! Haha.

I have non-movie stuff I'd like to display as well that I've kept packed up because deep down I knew another move was coming sooner or later. Can't wait to commit this time and get everything out and displayed!

Oh I completely feel you on that one. It's part of why I chose to attempt to downsize my collection this past year. I'm so tired of packing up and moving my entire collection almost every year the past 2-3 years. But of course, with new releases and stuff going OOP, I've piled up and I'm pretty sure I'm past 1000 in my collection now. Crazy to think about it. I pack all of my movies into plastic bins and label accordingly. This time I'll be using packing paper to fill gaps, put between stacks, etc etc to reduce shifting and damage. I also bubblewrapped all of my pricier / more important collectibles in the last move to ensure nothing happened to them. I hate admitting this but I actually cried during this last move because I thought the movers either lost or stole my bin of steelbooks with all of my top collectibles that mean the most to me. I was having a conniption thinking about how I couldn't dare afford to rebuy Sucker Punch HDZeta one click at the rate it's going now along with some other ones! I was a doofus though and it was in my room all along just missed it. I get so anxious moving purely because I think about the "what ifs" all the time. What if something gets stolen, what if something gets damaged, etc etc. I'm a worry wart!

I guess we learn lessons while moving! Thankfully I only used tape on the bubblewrapped items, and one specific movie that got kind of destroyed (Cabin Fever [2016] DVD with slip) I actually just rebought on blu-ray a day or two ago thanks to Target's B2G1 free deal. Maybe it's not all bad!

It's so nice to just talk about moving with other people. I mean, moving is the most stress and anxiety inducing process all things considered (cost [my drive is 20 hours at the least so I'll have U-Haul + movers + hotel pit stop at some point for sleep since movers couldn't come same day anyway], packing, unpacking, etc). But at the same time I've wanted this for so long that I'm more excited than anything. I might actually be able to make a few bucks off of some movies and collectibles I could sell while going through them too. So that's a bonus!

I'm about to have the same problem. Should be interesting.

Why the hell my Barnes and Noble switched completely to vinyl and another I went to find something in the clearance section[Rarity and Rainbow Dash, the only 2 I need to find] which is of course a long shot since they don't really keep the data in book master when its on clearance. Why that one still has CDs is beyond me but they do have a larger section for the movies and music than we do but ours is probably one the highest/busiest ones in the district.

How does one filter out stupid slipcovers and digital codes when searching for a 4k disk on eBay?

That is interesting. Does your's have a cafe? None of my managers I talk to are really sure on why some stores are different but thinks its due to area traffic and volume of purchases

Though I have to figure out some more or somehow figure out where to get Dashie and Rarity.

I don't even understand why they carried "NEW" releases at B&N. The movie prices were outrageous.

I was watching a youtube video the other day about airlines that cater to the wealthy and I couldn't believe the level of opulence on those planes Now they have "apartment suites", bathrooms the size of walk-in closets (complete with vanity mirror and stool!) and - get this - freaking showers!! The "suites" are basically cordoned-off sections of the plane with real leather recliners that swivel, beds, 32" TVs and a personal attendant at your disposal. The food they serve is super fancy (yuck, give me a hamburger and fries any day over what looks like diarrhea soup and pastries topped with semen lol). Price tag one-way: $15,000 Personally, I could do without complimentary one-size-fits-all PJs, mood lighting and caviar. What's next? Olympic swimming pools, IMAX theaters and a racquetball court? LOL

I gotta ask myself, do people really need such opulence for a plane ride? I'm lucky I get purple chips and half a can of Sprite every time I fly to the Caribbean

There's really no way unfortunately. I also wish there was a way to filter out items where people list 4Ks or blu-rays as "brand new" but in reality they're not and the digital copies are removed. I don't care if the cellophane is still partially on it and just the digital code is out. That's not new to me.

weird. I've not gone to mine before I started working there but given the layout it almost seems to me they downsized the books or that they always had the games and toys ect.

Obviously by switching which hand to use as the primary has screwed with your brain.

First time in years I've had a slight cold, too. Probably just coincidence but I'm not taking any chances. Went back to using my right hand, started drinking again and everything is back to normal.

What is with this sites moderation? Why would they rather keep closing the captain Marvel thread than just deal with the guy who can't handle brie Larson? It ends up punishing everyone because one guys sad little willy doesn't like the actress in the film. Just warn the guy to stop talking about it, suspend him if he doesn't listen, and move on. Stop screwing over everyone who'd like to talk about the movie because one guy doesn't get his peepee happy while looking at the main character.
