So I filled out an application for Lowe’s for a cashier position this morning and had an automated rejection email by this afternoon, WTF?!?!? How the hell do you evaluate someone isn’t worth the position without ever meeting them. Looks like I’ll be swinging by there next week.

yeah....lowe's may not be the best place to try and get a job...even as as cashier. they're doing away with thousands of jobs and doing a lot of 3rd-party (outsourcing....sort of) stuff. granted it's not cashier positions, but the way they're going, it won't be long before they stop hiring for many/most positions.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/money...fs/1898200001/

starting last year, they were planning on closing 51 stores in north america and all of the orchard supply hardware stores (haven't heard of those, don't know where they are).

now i'm not trying to tell don't work there; i'm just trying to give you some information. and i know it won't be a job you wanna stay at for a long time (i'm guessing), but we've all been there. sometimes, you just gotta do things to pay the bills.

Honestly, I’m just trying to find a job and not settle. Unfortunately the pickings are slim around here and I may have to go back to store level. Which I worked so hard to avoid by becoming a retail merchandiser. I worry that with Unifirst I’m just another body. $700 weekly salary doesn’t sound like too much if I’m going over 50 hours a week. I guess we’ll see how the ride along goes next Monday.

Being serious, have you thought about Walmart? I know a lot of people consider it a last resort, but hey its a job and they pretty much hire anyone with a pulse for the receiving shift (usually overnight or early mornings however I guess they've been changing the shift schedules since I worked there). If you have management experience, I know for sure you'll be a candidate to be a manager with your military background assuming there's an opening for one in your area

I wonder by end of the month stupid direct tv and Nexstar will settle so I can watch channel 2 abc and channel 58 cw it been 3 months already with cw going off near end of june and abc been off since july 3rd meh

sorry thing is last month I gave in get that free local channel connector crap after been assure get to watch them off the air come find out I was lied to

because don't live in Nashville where I live at weak signals and those 2 channels couldn't get off the air

if somebody told me before hand that this wouldn't work out in 1st place wouldn't order hook that crap up surely was a waste of time<-its still hook up not sure what to do with it

I wished hulu plus live tv and PlayStation vue or sling tv has cw channel to dvr shows apparently they don't where I live at

I guess only way if want to dvr stuff cw is though youtube tv? that sure cost a lot

yes I watch cw channel on roku and I have to wait next day to watch something like iZombie final around 2 am this morning and cannot fast forward doing commericals<-never was a fan of commericals btw

Today was great day in the woods. Didn't see any deer, that is rare because I see at least 2 every time I'm back there. I did see a pair of box turtles mating, which is something I've never see other than videos or docs on tv. It was hilarious! The male just stared at me and didn't even pretend to be frightened. On the way back I noticed a shoe was untied, at that very moment I saw a big, black king snake not even an inch from the shoe. It was so long that it covered maybe half of the walking path. I jumped back so fast I almost fell down. Haven't felt an adrenaline rush like that in a very long time. lol there was a little pep in my step after that.

Yeah, right now I’m resisting the urge to settle and apply with them or Sam’s Club. There is a Walmart here in town, but I’m not even sure I’m staying here. Which seems to be The Mrs #1 question when we talk. I know that I’m not doing overnights to prove myself again. That’s one thing I do know. I also know I don’t have a pot to piss in financially. So I’m going to take it a step at a time and start looking at rooms and places to rent tomorrow. My MiL gets the Sunday paper and that might help me gauge things better.

Haha, newish...got it like 3 months ago. Eh, the price wasn't bad at all for Vizio's (at the time) top of the line 65" model. I stalked it at Costco, laid in wait until the price started dropping like a stone before they got the 2019 models in stock and then I struck.

Anyway, I put it through its paces during the 3-month return period in case something was wrong with it and since that ends this coming Saturday, decided it finally time to get it set up in its final spot so I did that last night and it is BEAUTIFUL.

Last night I watched Deepwater Horizon on Netflix and was blown away.
Something unreal to me is
[Show spoiler]how some people step up and risk their own lives for the safety of others. They are truly facing death, but concern for others dictates what they do
.
I hope that if I were ever in a situation, I could do that too.

*Don't look at the spoiler if you haven't seen the movie. WATCH this excellent movie.

Congrats! Sounds like you did your due diligence and it paid off. Stalked it like a wolf to a bunny. Alright, now we need pics.

Haha, thanks man. Yeah, it's funny just how much patience I have when I wanna get something cheaper than what it currently goes for!

I really can't stand when customers expect one of us workers to load their car literally one minute before the store is closing for the night. Once we're 2-3 minutes before closing, I'm halfway to the backroom and about to punch out. Not my fault you waited until last minute before I'm scheduled to leave.

I can't believe there are people walking among us who can't turn a screwdriver or replace a lightbulb. Freaking ridiculous. And of course my wife rented to them. Sorry folks no where in your lease says anything about the homeowner being responsible for burned out light bulbs, if you can't replace them then i guess you'll be living in the dark.
