I've had a cold since early Feb. Mucus buildup which then gives me a cough if it builds up. Add in now I'm getting allergies....

Thus, all my co-workers are treating me like I'm infected.

I just get always get colds and when the weather starts to go up and down, March-May, it is hard to go away. Sucks.

Just kind of sucks knowing that some of us are stuck working like crazy year round, while so many get to sit home and are the reason why we have so much extra to do.

Half of society will be all well rested when the virus scare is over, the other half will be burned out.
In a weird way...it's kind of neat seeing what all the posters who you've seen over the years, but never really got to know outside of the obvious love of Blu-ray, seeing what they do for a living.

I'm almost 50, spent my working life in IT, for an Oil & Gas type company.

Okay sure. Let's just say, if the US "announced" anything like that, it would be the biggest story of the day. It's complete nonsense.

Where I am we're facing a triple whammy...

1) I might die of the virus
2) As the world economy is toast, I've lost my life savings
3) Even when the economy rebounds, because of Russia and the Saudi's pissing match the Oil & Gas economy is forever screwed

Because of lack of testing...or the ability to test.

Or it's political in nature....Russia only has 200ish cases...ya sure. Meanwhile the number of deaths due to 'viral pneumonia' is skyrocketing...

This whole US stimulus plan to give EVERYONE money is a gigantic waste of taxpayer dollars. Where exactly am I going to go spend all that money right now that's going to be helpful? No, in all reality, most people who don't NEED that money are going to stick it in the bank and wait until shit settles down. Fortunately, my job is not at risk, and i already work remotely much of the time anyway. I know others aren't as fortunate. Reenforcing unemployment and helping small businesses would be far more beneficial use of resources.

I’d wager a good 95% of customers I have had the unfortunate opportunity to speak to say this is just hoax, it’s just a cold, no big deal, my life is ruined because I had a party planned, etc etc. All the anger and frustration is taken out on grocery store employees such as myself. Like I’m sorry we don’t have your eggs, milk, toilet paper, paper towels and jam you like. We had one elderly lady (in her early 70s) get pissed off that we “caved to the lies” and that we created “an hour for elderly and at risk people” to shop. People are crying at their lunch breaks and 15min breaks too. I’ve never seen such defeated faces in my life. I don’t know how it is in other states but it’s really brought the worst out and I thought hurricane attitudes were bad.
I still don't understand how grocery stores are still emptied out till this day. Didn't people stock up enough the last couple of weeks?? How do people have all this room to keep panic buying LOADS of stuff???

Come on, people! Some of us actually have to buy food and other essentials items because we actually need more. Let's stop being greedy!

Korea has learned their mistakes from the SARS outbreak. America should has listened to Bill Gates after Ebola outbreak.

I would tend to agree, most people don't stop and think where that money is coming from. It's either coming from "we" the taxpayers, or it just burdens the taxpayer further in more debt. Either way, we still end up paying for it... there's no such thing as a free handout.

If they just mass distribute an antibody serum, it would at least buy us some time. I really hope this becomes something strongly considered soon as it could be a game-changer.
