Does she make different money every week?
Nope, she makes a straight hourly wage and worked 40 hours every week. Now she works 26 hours at home. Same hours every week. Unemployment seems to claim she makes over the limit. What the hell is the point of unemployment if your employer cuts your hours by 16 hours and says you should be able to collect and then find out you don't qualify? This is impacting us hard and unemployment and the $600 weekly stimulus is nowhere to be seen, and I'm still waiting on my stimulus too. I doubt she'll ever be able to collect back payments for all this, even if work share ever kicks in for her. That's 16 hours lost per week for almost a month so far, plus the missing $600 weekly stimulus.

I'm 90% sure I had it in February when they thought I had bronchitis. They did give me antibiotics for it but they didn't really help.

If she (or you) make over your states max amount, you get nothing. There's no way around that. For example, in NY, it's $504. If you make anything over that, you can't file. No weekly benefits and no $600 bonus. And, no, you can't "just" get the $600.

So if she (or you) is trying just for the $600, I'm sorry to tell you that's never going to happen

Everyone thinks they had it, very few actually did.

Agreed. I thought I might have as well. Nope.

(Well, theoretically, nope. Maybe I did and that antibody test is wrong. I don't know what to believe any more.)

NYC lockdown extended until June 13

I can’t wait to move out of this crappy state. Ironically the state I want to move to has started to reopen but the pandemic has put my plans on hold.

May 28th actually. But if we meet the metrics before that time, we can enter Phase 1 of re-opening. NYC was hit harder than almost anywhere else in the world; it makes complete sense that it would take a little longer to open NYC back up compared to some place upstate, or another state. There's also a much greater danger of there being a larger second wave here in the city than anywhere else in the country, so I have no problems with moving ahead cautiously.

No. It's June 13th. Where did you see something otherwise?

Did you really expect something else?? We were hardest hit so, realistically, we're going to be the last to re-open.

See the executive order. It's actually May 28th. The June 13th date being thrown around is the extension of Cuomo's emergency powers in general, not specifically about PAUSE. A lot of news articles have interpreted the order incorrectly.

Quote:
Executive Order 202.28, which extended the provisions of Executive Orders 202.3, 202.4, 202.5, 202.6, 202.7, 202.8, 202.10, 202.11, 202.13, and 202.14 which each closed or otherwise restricted public or private businesses or places of public accommodation, and which required postponement or cancellation of all non-essential gatherings of individuals of any size for any reason (e.g. parties, celebrations, games, meetings or other social events), which together constitute New York On PAUSE, is hereby continued until 11:59 p.m. on May 28, 2020, unless later amended or extended by a future Executive Order;
Cuomo himself has stated 40 mins ago in the conference that it's the 28th as well.

Had a second solicitor this morning (first one was late last week). At least this one was wearing a face mask, but they were standing right near the door instead of standing back.

I didn't let them say anything and just said "no thank you" and closed the door on them so they'd f*k off. I'm so tempted to just throw a pitcher of water on the next person if it happens again, but that might not be very constructive.

Well that's the thing. Can't get a straight answer.

California says one town they tested 60%+ had been infected. France or Germany comes out with a study and they say less than 5% infected.

No one knows.

4000 IU/day should not be exceeded in the long term without prior consultation with a physician. Although rare, your physician may also instruct as to symptoms of hypercalcemia from too much Vitamin D supplement ingestion and to cease taking supplements if such symptoms occur and have your serum calcium, phosphate, and 25(OH)D levels measured before resuming supplementation.

I want a goat parade in my neighborhood!!

I always hesitated to put a sign near my door saying "no solicitors" because it felt a little too anti-social, but I did finally just resort to posting a sign that says "Solicitors: Kindly don't bother me during the pandemic."

So hopefully that will solve that.

Lea County told its residents, ‘it’s your choice’ and it will not enforce the state’s public health orders.

“Several people have asked me, ‘when will Lea County open up for business?’ My answer, is businesses will open when a business owner decides to open,” says Lea County Manager Mike Gallagher.

Gallagher added there are consequences to staying closed and consequences with state police if you open. He also added not to snitch on businesses that decided to open. Gallagher also told residents it’s your choice if you want to wear a mask. The state has fined businesses that ignored the health order.

Good for you, Lea County
