I want the original released without A New Hope listed. I have made it clear. I know it will likely never happen the way I want so I have accepted it. Doesn't mean I wouldn't be one of the first lining up if it did happen.

What I want to know is why Disney hasn't sent the lawyers out after these "fan editors". Making edits is one thing, but collecting money for it is a whole different matter. Just ask the Star Trek guy.

Of course then the jig would be up before it got off the ground. How many times has he asked for donations saying it's the last time and then keeps asking for more? Even he admits he never intended to do anything besides ANH initially. I guess only time will tell but I'm quite skeptical. Disability never pays as well and he needs more money. He also lost most of his audience to Hammy, so I don't see a reason for more Revisited edits.

From what I've heard, which is probably wrong, Lucasfilm/Disney have never said anything about the despecialized or other fan edits, but they DID say if one of those 4K scans of a 35mm print were released there would be legal action.

Haha, ya, in my head I only hear the original Fett voice spoken by Jason Wingreen.
I do like Temura Morrison as the Clones and as Jango but his delivery in the TESB Special Edition is lacking.

I would like to now address the community.

The one I chose just looked more appropriately interesting and menacing for the point I was trying to make.

To be honest, part of me would like to replace it and make it more accurate.

You see a meme is never finished, it's abandoned.
As an artist I made a visceral choice.
Besides the line is "He's worth a lot to me" not "They're".
So, to be fair creative liberties were taken all around.

Any altercation of the original work even to achieve some mindset of preserving the original intent is not right.

The scan of the original negative was meant to be seen in special edition form only. Those are just the facts.

On the other hand, capturing of an original print is preserving a copy that was bought/rented at some point for public distribution.

Until there is some kind of big money changing hands, it at least isn't altering the original intent or profitting from it.

However I am in no way shape or form saying that this is how people should see it (bootleg). The Complete Saga should be bought and promoted because that is how Lucas wants us to see it at some point. For myself, I owed him at least one sitting of unprejudiced chance to see it as he wants me to. I am happy to say I was rewarded for the effort and I keep those versions firmly on my shelf.

BUT the unending whining by UOT fanboys is another matter. I say either "blank" or get off the toilet. There are options and one can start by seeking out the analog laserdisc and enjoying the uncompressed surround sound as intended. They really are quite good.

Kind of like a scientist publishing papers in beta form. There are revisions that must be preserved to know where they were and NO ONE ELSE has a right to alter said work.
