Industrial Light and Magic did go in and make many technical improvements, most notably color matching on select lightsabers shots. 2. The list of extras for discs 7 & 8 are currently available online! We released all of that information on May 4th. 3. The Blu-rays will be the special editions of the movies.
Could you post a copy of that e-mail for further proof? Please.

True, but I would've thought that we would've heard something about it from Bill Hunt, or others that have inside info by now. Either way, we'll find out in about 30 days.....

How long did it take to get a response? I've been emailing Lucasfilm for a while now and haven't heard back.

Bill's smarter than that. He'll wait and see until the information is confirmed, preferably with his own eyes. Because he knows ANYTHING said about this release will be dissected ten thousand ways in groups and threads such as this.

Now we are starting to doubt the validity of this e-mail.
I for one believe the e-mail to be true.

HOORAY!

It also says the list of extras for Discs 7 & 8 are availible, but not 9 (even though there are lists of the documentaries). Maybe there will be some surprises on disc 9

I didn't ask about the extras on disc 9 because that will be the disc the documentaries will be on.

Ahh I see

Still great news

Personally I don't mind Disc 9. I'd rather get some new content (even if it is just fans in costumes) than everything on the 2004 bonus disc again.

Well, it ultimately shows you how corrupt and selfish the Sith really are. They care about power more than anything else, and will use or kill anyone to get it. Seeing the pain Luke endured finally broke through to Vader, and in sacrificing himself to kill Palpatine, he regained his humanity.

It's explained pretty clearly in the ROTJ Novelization...

How is a 90-minute collection of Star Wars spoofs (which have ground the concept into the dirt anyway and need a clip show like I need a hole in my head) 'new content'? I'd rather have everything that was on the DVDs, thanks. Losing Empire of Dreams is bad enough, but if they're junking all the superb stuff from the prequel DVDs too then I'll get REALLY mad, Marvin-The-Martian-style.

I put all my SW DVDs up for sale when I heard about the Blu-rays, and, funnily enough, the only ones that have sold are the prequels. My point being that I'm gonna have to buy them yet again on DVD to get those terrific extras which appear to be AWOL from the Blu-ray set. But hey, there's a documentary about people dressing up as Storm Troopers instead! Great.

Which now means that Vader's lightsaber is <PINK> all the way through the OT now.

Har...har.

Thanks for the post kenkraly.

It now makes me want to E-mail them asking about the *technical improvements* to the film's soundtrack.

Sounds very promising! Good job Kenkraly2004!

Thanks for sharing this important info.

Also, means that ILM didn't do very much then.

I guess George is happy with the current versions then?!?

Maybe Vader has a different idea in his mind, like maybe rule the galaxy as father and son?

Good job! Thanks kenkraly2004. So they did take the effort to fix the problems. If they fix the lightsabers I don't see why they didn't wanna fix the other issues.

Can't wait, 42 days to go!

One comment about "color matching on select lightsaber shots" and everyone assumes that the result will be exactly what they hope. What if it isn't? What if the changes actually add more pink shots?

Three sentences in an e-mail and everyone starts blowing sunshine. Compare that response to the overwhelming denial of numerous screenshots and video comparisons exhibiting the same issues from the 2004 dvds (color, glitch, etc.).

Do you expect a supposedly real Lucasfilm employee to say anything less than enthusiastic?

SW fans - hopelessly optimistic.

Yay!!! If that email is legit, then the Blu-rays are gonna be fantastic. The lightsabers are the only thing that really bothers me, also some audio issues in some scenes in ANH but that's it.
