Can't defend the opinion so just attack the poster because your basic lack of understanding and reading comprehension makes you feel witty.

First, you fail to realize that Gold Ranger made an unsupported and untrue accusation.

Second, this is called paraphrasing so it's "Gold Ranger?" because this poster chose the Red Ranger for an avatar image but the name Gold Ranger.

Does that make sense? I mean having to fully explain the joke makes it completely unfunny now but you never understood it to begin with so now the joke is simply on you.

One more thing. In your attempt to be both insulting and condescending you didn't bother to Google the Game of Thrones quote I was paraphrasing to ensure you actually got Jon Snow's character name correct. So it seems it is you who truly knows nothing.

Okay mods, why haven't you suspended this Dave the Minion guy yet? You always try to stop this thread from going off topic and turning into a mud-slinging fest, but what this guy is doing right now (poking the bear and acting all holier-than-thou towards the UOT supporters for no real reason) is usually the type of thing that torpedoes it in the first place.

I had the Gold Ranger as my Avatar for a long while. I only just recently changed it.

Except the 93 LD version is missing the 2 lines of C3PO's tractor beam dialog

Which wasn't added until one of the re-release mixes, if I'm not mistaken. For what it's worth, the original CBS broadcast didn't have that line either.

There's also another line missing from 3PO in some versions...

Right at the beginning of the film...
"No escape for the Princess this time."
Some versions have the line, some don't...

FWIW, being pretty familiar with Star Wars on home video, I'd never heard the tractor beam lines prior to seeing the special edition in January of 1997. I'm reasonably certain that no VHS or LD releases featured it prior to that.

Anyone recall hearing it theatrically in 1977?

The tractor beam lines were added to the original 1977 mono mix after the film went to a wide release that June, along with a few other minor changes. The mono version was never included on any home video releases, although many of the changes were included in the 97 SE and the dvd/blu-rays.

If you want to see a list of what all was changed for the mono mix, check this out: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/russdawson/mono/mono1.htm

I think you are mistaken. That line was definitely in all the original 1977 mixes as well as VHS/LD releases.

So am I. Which versions do not include that line? It's on all three 1977 mixes (6-track, stereo, and mono). Even though the 6-track and mono mixes were never released, those versions have been well documented and have been recreated from various sources for fan restorations.

There was then a new mix done in 1985 for home video and another in 1993. I have all of these tracks on my computer and they all include that line...

Did you check the '97 and '00 editions?
I believe it is those ones...

The line was present in the VHS release from 1990 which looked like this:

But it was absent again on the subsequent THX releases.

The tractor beam lines were definitely on the original letterbox laserdisc...

I have the pan & scan laserdiscs that were released earlier, but don't remember if it is on them..

I remembered that line well, I wonder if it was on the story of Star Wars LP... I memorized the abridged version of the film because of that record... but I can't remember if that line was on it...

Edit: Just checked youtube... the last part of the second line (a power loss will allow the ship to leave) was on the record

Both above copies (1990 VHS / 1989 LD) used the 1985 mix, which was a completely new mix (vis-a-vis the original 1977 mixes) and was most notable for the addition of the "tractor beam" line.

In comparison, the 1993 mix (used on the THX releases and 2006 bonus DVDs) went back to the 1977 70mm mix (explaining the lack of the "tractor beam" line) and punched up some sound effects.
