Thrawn himself is still canon thanks to Rebels but they missed their chance to use him in R1.

Does anyone know where I can get the Imperial March version used at the end of Attack of the Clones (When Chancellor Palpatine, Organa are watching the Clone Army depart Coruscant)?
It's not on the soundtrack. Ugh. It's my favorite version of Imperial March in the whole saga. |

For some reason I never bothered to check that track. I was looking for Imperial March. When I saw Dooku's thing I just kind of ignored it. I just have to crop out the beginning part. |

Yeah it's an awkwardly titled track. "Confrontation" makes it sounds like it's from the Obi-Wan/Anakin/Dooku fight but it's just him meeting with Palps at the end, going into the Clones getting loaded onto the ships (can't remember if there's any of that "Begun, the Clone War has" scene in there), then the wedding and finally the credits.

Are we supposed to like the Jedi in the prequels and their philosophy? Yoda says fearing the loss of a loved one is a path to the dark side. And he also says you shouldn't mourn or miss anyone. Uhhh... sounds pretty judgmental. It seems like the Jedi want to act like robots and not have normal human emotions. I remember thinking this when I watched Episode III in the theater. The Jedi seem pretty hypocritical and there's not really any likeable characters in the prequels. I guess Obi-Wan is the most likeable but none of the other Jedi are.

Prequels are about the Rise of Palpatine and Fall of Anakin Skywalker, and to a bigger extension the Fall of Institutions (Jedi Order + Republic Senate). Ultimately, the Jedi are supposed to be non-partisan and neutral, and Palpatine's master plan forces the Jedi to go out of their comfort zone and go to war. They were the guardians of peace, but they were thrust into war to try and save that peace. Some people think if Yoda+Windu and the Council were more sensitive to Anakin's feelings instead of making it black and white there would have been a better outcome. But Yoda's stubbornness to adapt to help Anakin, who cried for help several times was ultimately his biggest failure as it got all of his closest friends murdered. The Jedi, lead by Yoda, did not see what was in front of them all of this time and that was Chancellor Palpatine. This is why Qui-Gon was so important. Qui-Gon would have been on the Council if he just fell in line and was a yes man. But he disagreed with the council and was more of a rebel, that bends but not breaks. If he were to train Anakin his way, Anakin would have been able to use his attachments and feelings in a more conducive way instead of constantly being told to suppress them. I think Obi-Wan gave Anakin the best of both worlds. Some of Qui-Gon's stubbornness, but ultimately Obi-Wan was a yes man as well. It's also Obi-Wan's failure that he could not save Anakin from turning to the Dark. Jedi are not supposed to love, yet he confesses that he loved Anakin like a brother. Padme told Anakin that Obi-Wan knew of the pregnancy, and that he was the father. She said he wanted to help, and I have no qualms that Obi-Wan would have broken the rules to help Anakin's situation, had Anakin not already murdered all the Jedi Order. Luke Skywalker walks the fine line of the darkside in ROTJ, and uses enough of it for himself to disarm Vader and defeat Palpatine. It was his love for his friends, especially his sister, that guided him to overpower Vader. The feelings that Yoda told Anakin to suppress, were the feelings Luke used to defeat two Sith Lords. It was also his cunning and compassion for his father that got Vader to go back to Anakin and to the light to defeat the Emperor. |

I agree MasturB. I had grown up watching the unaltered OT thinking the Jedi were really cool and to be admired. But now I see them as basically a dogmatic religious cult with holier than thou attitudes. I also used to think Yoda was some really wise guru that had a lot of insight. But actually Luke is wiser. He doesn't blindly follow dogmatic rules and he embraces his emotions instead of pushing them away.

This is why by the time he sees Luke on Dagobah, he's more in tune with The Living Force as Qui-Gon was. So yes, it was his fault that the Jedi Order collapsed, he does wisen up thanks to Qui-Gon while his training on Dagobah. We're gonna see what problems Luke had when he had his new generations of Jedi. There's no question the Jedi are still the good guys and should be admired. Luke even announces to the Emperor "I am a Jedi, like my father before me". So yes, while the Jedi might have been dogmatic under Yoda's rule during the Republic, they were still on the good team. I mean Yoda lead the Jedi for what, 800 years? There was lots of peace there. So he wasn't the worst leader in the world. This is what he and Qui-Gon say in the ROTS Novelization (I'm borrowing this from someone's reddit post): Quote:

I haven't read them and I'm not very interested in doing so. I have read some comics but I don't consider them canon. I did read this issue only:
