I am legitimately curious why you though Life of Pi was not family friendly? It was pretty tame, in my opinion. Perhaps not intended for real little kids.

A blunt display of animals suffering and being killed...I know no real animals were harmed, but even depicting animals being pulled out of their natural environment and let to suffer and kill each other, starving and dehydrated. It was too much for me...I could not bare it and that is not what I would call a fun movie night.

Where did I say that the movie was about animals? I simply said that the portray of animals suffering, starving, and dying in such manners, was disgusting IMO.
The movie might not be about animals, but animals surely take up a lot of movie time here

If the below had seamless branching so they'd have all various cuts on their discs, I'd be buying them. But since they don't, oh well. Buying and/or keeping the Blu-ray discs.

BvS doesn't need seamless branching. There is no reason to watch the theatrical cut when the superior in every way UE is available.

Now if WB considered releasing *an even longer cut* with 1.78 IMAX sequences, I might buy this movie a 4th time.

Will HEVC in 4K be awesome with IMAX? Would love Interstellar in 4K with the IMAX scenes. (It'd be a True 4K title, right?)

It could/should be.

It could be, for the most part, if they mastered it right. Not the shots with CG VFX, though.
