Did you get to compare both formats?

Some of us aren't stuck with mere television and we appreciate the effort. Enjoy mediocrity.....

Indeed. I do not deign to use such pedestrian devices. For my tele-visual edification and pleasures, I enjoy image playback exclusively on the Belnar TM Industries 407XR Light-Balanced Photonic Animation Monitoring Appliance, Mark II.

"Television". Hah! Let the plebes enjoy their copious, insufferable mediocrity, indeed.

HD does mean something, though, and so does UHD.

My 4 year old Blu-ray player died so I replaced it with the new Panasonic DMP- UB200 UHD Blu-ray player. This is the first UHD piece in my signal chain. It feeds its signal into a Yamaha AX1000 A/V receiver and on to a 7 year old Panasonic TC-P65S2 1080P 65 inch plasma TV.

The DMP-UB200 does an admirable job of playing all disc formats. But as a streamer it is lacking. I use a Roku for streaming and it is far superior.

Out of curiosity, I bought the Blade Runner 4K UHD disc set. I spent the evening running visual tests and comparing the UHD disc to the regular 2007 Blu-ray disc included in the 4 disc set. The UHD Blu-ray player automatically down converts the UHD disc to a 1080/24P signal. But even so, the picture is far superior to the regular Blu-ray disc. And by a wide margin.

I just thought I'd report my findings here.

Let's be honest. Everyone is pro-4K DI for their UHD's... lol

But, what some of you lot are saying isn't just "I'm interested in them" -- It's more like a childish demand of a parent you think owes you something chanting "why have you forsaken me?". Fact of the matter is we have historically demanded a certain title and they have data on that. The studio will do their due diligence, cost-benefit analyses, and often prioritize one release over another's quality with the limited funding the EVEN higher ups (are risking their jobs at times) decide to give those home video departments on what is an unpredictable investment...

Same. I'm just gonna get the Raimi UHD Trilology anyway. Still gonna keep the 4-Disc Blu-ray release I own because I'm crazy.

Not sure if 3 is worth getting....Such a terrible movie. I guess if they sold all 3 as a set, id be ok with that.

I actually liked 3. It was not 1 or 2, but I still enjoyed it. I still like Raimi's trilogy more than the Amazing Spider-man films.
