Not that TT is distributing this title but, I don’t believe that the poor performance of catalog sales is as much related to the type of home deliverable (whatever the format) as it is to the interest of the purchasing public in regards to these older movies, no matter how magnificent they are ….

As typical, you did not comprehend what I said. I never said BD would be extinct in 5yrs, only can we shelve The Talk about BD becoming extinct for another 5yrs.
Which would mean you and Peter would have to not post about it for another 5yrs! Win/win for everyone IMHO.
Also try reading up about a format called Laserdisc, that should shoot a hole in your little timeline.

It is a problem every studio has talked about since the inception of the format.
Agree 100%. If there's a catalog title I want, I wait for a sale on Amazon.com and don't pay anywhere close to retail. Heck, I picked up "Shakespeare in Love" for $5.99! Now that was a bargain.

How can you disagree with me? Is blu-ray in decline? If so, please post me a source with quantifiable numbers. That would be you disagreeing with me, or I you.
Comprehension is not your strongest quality.

Call me insensitive, but I wouldn't equate "you've had your say in here half-a-dozen times, so please take it to its own thread now" with censorship.

Not to mention I don't think you can really accuse rickah88 of ever actually attempting to censor him. I believe that's something only the moderators are authorized to do...

Blu-ray catalog titles are in decline. Look at the release schedules for yourself.

It's only win/win for the Apple-ites.

It's not a win for those concerned about future sources of home entertainment.

The onus is on YOU, my little Concern Troll, to provide ME year by year data to back up your claims. Best of luck...I'll be waiting.

I'm not an "Apple-ite" as you put it...and I'm the one that typed win/win....which again you did not comprehend the meaning of. You are failing, miserably, at being a Concern Troll.

And they also give answers to customer satisfaction surveys that are the precise opposite of their opinions because... what... they wouldn't want the survey-taker to know that they're so uncool as to not actually like the product that they're lining up to re-buy?

You believe tens of millions of people are enacting this scenario?

It may take a while, but can I introduce you to Occam's razor?
No offence, but you are the one trying too hard. Maybe Peter is wrong, but in the history of the world and your lifetime you are seriously telling us you have not realised that there are many people that buy something just because it is cool/status symbol. Have you ever heard of fashion? or do you think the people that re-do their whole wardrobes every year do so because they think the new clothes will be more comfortable, durable.... anything other than a status symbol?

You're asking me if I'm serious, Anthony?

Of course some people buy things because they're fashionable. You know what they don't do? Get together with a couple-hundred-million of their friends and all buy something that costs between $500 and $2,500 because it's fashionable and then proceed to rate it incredibly highly in customer satisfaction despite their not liking it because it's fashionable and then proceed to buy another one that they don't need and also don't like because it's fashionable.

Next time you question my responses, look at the claims I'm responding to. I'm sure there are people who've bought an iPad or an iPhone only because they heard they were "cool". There aren't 200 million of them. And they don't line up to buy more of them after they end up not liking them. And they don't report their stunningly high customer satisfaction after they end up not liking them.

Well, the South and NASCAR go hand-in-hand...Martinsville, Bristol, Daytona, etc.
I watched the Daytona 500…or should I say, the 24 hrs. of Daytona, last night and I was speechless when I saw this…

Brad Keselowski MAKES HISTORY and Tweets from Car During Daytona 500; Takes Pic of Explosion! - YouTube
I heard about that today, thought it was pretty awesome! Makes me wonder if when Joe Horn(ret-WR for New Orleans) got a cell phone out of the field goal post padding during and TD celebration, was waaaay ahead of his time!
As for the 500, I turned it off when Jeff Gordon's engine went kaput!

Absolutely...

However, it's aggravating when someone assumes that the reason(s) one likes a product is due to it being cool, a status symbol, or heck, even peer pressure.

SOME people are perfectly capable of making up their own minds, and deciding what they like for themselves.
