Even redbox rentals which are free or close to free with discount codes.
I view it as paying money for 2 hours (varies per movie) of enjoyment. If the movie is tediously awful after an hour, I will get more of the enjoyment I paid for by doing something else. I mean if I order take out, and the food tastes lousy, I'm not going to force myself to eat all of it, just because I paid for it.

It's quite possibly the completist in me but I want to finish what I started. Especially if its a movie at a theater because I drove all the way over there and blocked out time for it.

I'm the same way. It's the whole, "I paid money for this, so I might as well try and enjoy it" thing. I've never once walked out of a movie, and, to the above point, I've never not finished eating something, even if it was lousy. Being poor growing up will do that to you. On the extremely rare occasion I don't finish something, I feel like a garbage person. Well, moreso than I already am.

For Sherlock Holmes, it's Basil Rathbone or Jeremy Brett. Everyone else is phoning it in.

Only God Forgives.

I'm just not a Refn fan, but goodness me was this a slog to get through (and it's only 90 minutes, how does the man do it?!?!), and save for Kristin Scott Thomas (saw all of her scenes), I gave exactly zero f*cks about anyone else.

Skipped to the credits and saw it was just the police officer singing in the same club that shows up at earlier points in the film and could not have rolled my eyes more at the pretentiousness.

I'll stick to "The Rhythm of the Night" and Beau Travail, thanks. Haha.

I'm about to tap out on Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man. Not because it's awful, I really want to enjoy it, but I still can't get into it. The movie is also very odd too. Like, it's set in the "future", but no way in hell you can tell that by looking at this...
