The Google Chrome browser has the ability to display HDR content on a HDR monitor and this video was not in HDR.

Worse, over 99% of YouTube's videos which have "HDR" in their titles are not HDR. I think it's a travesty.

There is some value to Dolby Vision IQ as it brings more versatility to those non-videophilic general audiences who are either unknowingly watching/or prefer to watch Dolby Vision content in less than ideal viewing conditions (for example, taking into consideration the ambient light by alternative PQ mapping functions (PQ’) ensures that details in the dark areas of the image do not become uniformly black when the scene is viewed in a brighter environment) and conversely, if experienced videophiles such as yourself are viewing in an environment that duplicates that of the mastering suite, then not to worry, you won’t be losing anything.

Yes, (120/60 HFR profile which would work with current 60fps TVs) is a potential solution for future deployment. Namely, a backward compatibility mechanism (introduced by the DVD - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digita...o_Broadcasting ) which enables 50/60 fps decoders to render a 50/60 fps version of the content while 100/120 fps decoders render the full HFR experience from the single HFR stream (with dual PIDs) coming into consumer TVs at home.

afaik ATSC 3.0 also offers temporal sub-layering for backward compatibility to a frame rate half (50/60) of the HFR (100/120).
