Just for fun, versions of T2 I've owned (or still own):
  • CAV laserdisc boxset from Live (theatrical cut)
  • Pioneer Special Edition laserdisc set w/silver foil (extended cut)*
  • Extended cut laserdisc w/director-preferred 4:3 framing
  • T2:Ultimate Edition DVD (2 DVD 9s, not the dreaded DVD-18) w/metal case
  • T2:Extreme Edition DVD w/metal case
  • Extended cut blu-ray from Optimum (UK)
If I were to get the skynet edition, that would make 7, but since I currently have a very good transfer and DTS-MA sound plus both previous DVD special editions, I'm really not seeing the benefit of the skynet edition for me, other than digital copy (which I can make myself just fine from the Extreme Edition DVD).

* The only home video version to ever feature the GnR music video.

Where have I been? This is awesome news. I am glad I waited. I have a lifesize T2 endo skull model which I built myself. Not impressed? It was a vacuform kit. So I had to cut out the pieces as well as assemble and paint.

I had 1 and 2 on VHS as gifts. Got rid of them a while back.

This thread reminds me that movies in HD are not as new as we think. I have the steel slip cover edition of the T2 DVD. Disc 2 contains the movie in high def. To play it you have to let it install some software on your computer. As I recall I never did get it to work on my old computer.

It's Judgement-ray.

You know, now that I've seen what's on there, I think I will actually get this.

I'm not that big a TERMINATOR fan to begin with, but I won't deny that it is a classic and a damn entertaining movie.

Same here, T2 is the best one in the series for me, or until T4 comes out. Couldn't get into T1 for some reason and T3 was ok.

Default Is it truly worth it?

I'm sorry if this question is asked before, don't have time to skim through
the thread.
Is the PQ quality gonna be much better than what's already released?
Or is it just another stupid release capitalizing on the fanbase?
I'm sorry if I sound disrespecting to the "fanbase", I myself is included

lol@ the 6 disk edition for $175. No way.

Look at it like this...

The skynet edition is $24.99 or whatever.

For the 6 disk edtition you get the bluray 2 disk and both the ultimate edition and the other version..DVDS.

The dvds in the 6 disk set come are $5 at Target! and they are DVDS! lol.

minus the bluray price...-$25
minues the ultimate edition/special dvds..-$10

and you are paying $140 for a plastic( that's not metal) terminator head.

lolz

Skynet edition for me.
