The lossless track is awesome in the movie, but I kind of wish the bass was a little more robust. Don't get me wrong my subwoofer is definitely alive in this movie, but explosions have more of a tighter sounding bass, instead of that crazy deep bass sound.

I've had the Skynet edition for a couple months but haven't put it in yet. Does it have, as an easter egg anywhere, the 3rd cut with the "perfect future" ending?

Just got this at Target for $5.
I put it in my BR player and it loads just fine and because my player isn't hooked up to the internet the screen says that it can't connect to Skynet and asks if I want to retry or cancel. I click on cancel and it just hangs. Anyone have this problem? |

sometimes it crashes after the skynet find address and ask to continue. sometimes it will load up the liongate logo after that or just black out and be stuck. Jacob |

I tried it again today.
It loads up as before and asks me the same thing about retry or cancel trying to connect to Skynet. I click cancel and all I get is a black screen. I let the disc in there for 10 minutes and nothing at all. I even turned off the BD-Live feature and the same thing. I checked the manufacturers website and the Software Update for the player is the most current (Oct. 30,2010). Should I contact the BR player manufacturer and tell them of the problem I am having or could it be that I got a defective disc? BR Player I own. http://www.memorex.com/en/500-Intern...pportPage.aspx |

I contacted dvd/blu ray producer van ling about this matter. he is the producer on the t2;skynet edition. he told me that I could post the following on the forum.
Jacob Please feel free to post the following on the thread for me: The T2 Skynet disc is very graphics-heavy and processor-intensive, so the player has to be able to handle it; as designed, the disc was optimized for a PS3 but has a benchmark app built-in to the startup to check the player model to see if it should run in full graphics mode or a reduced graphics mode (fewer pop-up menu animations) or a mininum graphics mode (no menu animations at all). If your player does not have a large persistent memory buffer built-in (which is part of the spec but only at a minimum size; most of the better players use larger ones), it will likely run very slow or not at all. If the player is NOT connected to the internet via BD-Live, then it will just try to use a default settings on the disc, which may not be optimal for your player. If your Panasonic player has a USB port on it, try plugging in a 4Gb or larger flash drive and use the player utilities to format it for persistent storage use, then see if the disc performs better. Remember, different players implement the BD spec in different degrees of performance, so the Panasonic 210 may just be one of the ones that trades performance for price. The BD spec specifies what functions the players have to be able to do, but not how well or how fast they do them. Other possible culprits are: - defective or damaged disc: check for scratches or swap out for another copy, but it's likely not a design or programming error since the disc has been out for 2.5 years now. - slow internet connection: unlikely these days, but worth checking. - studio server is no longer optimally supported: this would be the most likely culprit in that this is a 2.5 year-old release and Lionsgate/StudioCanal may have moved their links to a slower server, or dropped the support entirely. If the latter, the benchmark app's player database may no longer be up to date with all of the current players, so if it can't find the model, it might not set the appropriate menu graphics mode for that player. With Blu-ray, discs are literally software applications, and to be optimized they need to have constant maintenance upgrades from the manufacturer to accommodate new hardware systems... and this may not happen beyond a certain time period. So this is a question for Lionsgate/StudioCanal. Remember, this disc may have been (IMHO) fairly state of the art and groundbreaking when it came out several years ago, but the technology and spec implementation has changed significantly in that time, so depending on the player model and the level of software/firmware support on the studio side, the performance may vary. Hope this helps, V |

A little heads up for those who may try picking up T2 on blu ray now that its 5 dollars at Target, Amazon, and other retailers.
I went to Target today and picked it up for 5 dollars, I mean that's just a sweet deal. But when I got home and took the disc out of the case, I noticed the disc had weird streaks on the data side, as well as hairline scratches. I thought this was odd for it being a new disc, especially since in my experience its very rare for blu ray's to be scratched when they're new. So I went back to Target to exchange it and got a new one. Well when I got home and opened that one, it had the same streaks and hairline scratches, in the exact same place on the disc. Now I was thinking maybe Target just got a bad batch, I mean that is possible. But I remembered a few weeks back I got First Blood from Amazon because it was cheap, and the disc had the same streaks and scratches. So I'm thinking Lionsgate may have shipped a bad batch of a number of their titles to retailers, and it may just be their budget titles. I contacted Lionsgate tonight and I hope they at least look into it. As for the streaks and scratches causing playback issues, I can't say if they do or don't. But my philsophy is this, if I buy new I expect a flawless disc because if I want discs that are scratched and are all smeared up, I'd buy it used on Ebay. |

Well I went back after posting what I posted and got a third disc with the hairline scratches and weird streaks. The streaks come right off but the very faint hairline scratches do not, which is annoying as hell. May try one more time but at another Target.
