Anyone have the Rose of Versailles DVDs from RS that can comment on the PQ, and just quality of the sets overall? I missed the LE's when they were on sale last holiday, but I've been thinking of just going ahead and snagging them before I can't anymore.

I posted a link to Sensuifu's screencaps for A Town Where You Live a few posts ago just so you know.

It doesn't look too bad. The eps are just over 22 mins each, including extra English credits, even. Only the one language track too, of course.
I like the show. I wish it'd been 26 proper-length episodes instead of these measly 12. The material is obviously there. The cheap animation is most obvious in the mouth movements; I've never noticed any this bad. |

Yep, anime will never be animated in 4K... it's only a matter of time.

Has anyone checked out the PQ of the Tekkaman Blade II Blu-ray yet? A friend of mine got it and was complaining about the inconsistent PQ.
He said he watched the first three episodes and that the first 10 minutes or so of each episode looked good, almost like a good re-master, but then the rest of each episode looked like a crappy quality upscale until it got to the "on the next episode" sequence which then looked good again. I'm curious if any of you have seen it yet and how it looks to you. |

Sensuifu posted screencaps on Code Geass, and also reported a serious audio problem. If true, holy shit FUNi...
Quote:
Only other time I know of they ****ed up the audio on an English dub that much was Spice & Wolf II. Though that was even worse because the JP audio also had a problem. Quote:
Also related, I heard with The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, they messed with the already good 5.1 mix, and their Blu-ray audio-wise is quite a downgrade from the Bandai Entertainment release. Last edited by BigOnAnime; 10-07-2016 at 09:57 AM. |

Such garbage, Funi. And it will only get worse with the mass of titles they are licensing currently - they'll push them through manufacturing so fast they won't bother or care to do any QA on anything before releasing them. Definitely holding on to my Bandai TGWLTT release, then.
Thankfully I haven't broken the seal on my Code Geass Loser Edition yet - still very much considering to return it for my money back. |
