It's not the US encodes. Encoding and mastering was handled by the French arm.

The UK set is on 2 discs with a 9/4 split. There is no way it’s the US encodes.

If anyone here is picking up the Assassination Classroom Season 2 complete set, I'd be very interested to see whether or not they bothered fixing the horrendous black crush that affected the original parts.

They don’t, but I still doubt 3 BD-50s worth of content would fit in this 9-4 split.

Vol 1 is Episodes 1-5 on a single disc
Vol 2 is Episodes 6-10 on a single disc
Vol 3 is Episodes 11-13 and the OVA on a single disc

I doubt someone as cheap as PonyCan USA would go for single layer discs

(Granted, I don't own them, so I can't say for sure, but I can ask)

I wouldn't be surprised if it is a BD-25, but when the cost of a dual layer disc is barely more than a single layer, it makes me wonder if they did.

Never owned a PonyCan USA release (I do have their JP release of Koe no Katachi which is maxed out in terms of audio, but the video is not the flawless JP release we expect).

Are you sure you're not up too late? Seriously. I'm not trying to take the piss.

As far as I'm aware, BD50s are significantly more expensive than BD25s.

PonyCan USA does not author their discs in Japan, like Aniplex of America does. Their latest release (Euphonium 2) looks and feels like a bootleg.

We'll have to hear from someone who actually has a PonyCrap disc and a Blu-ray drive. My friend in DE isn't at home right now, so I can't ask him to check.
