In particular look at the man’s jacket. Take a look:
It should be worth noting that the Japanese DVDs are better than Bandai's dot-crawl mess, and Q-TEC's smeared crap. Discotek used the JP DVDs for their DVD release, there was a comparison on Fandom Post, but I don't think the images display anymore.

Lol, I get shit all time for being mostly indifferent or okay with dubs. It'll take a lot more to hurt my feelings

Is this true? If it is, I guess I really may be looking for another set ..

If I recall correctly, they extended Holo’s hair to hide her breasts.

I am not sure I care about that then. If that's all that was changed it doesn't really change the content of the show or the intent of the scene. There's plenty of other ways to see Holo naked if I really cared.

Guess I'll pass unless someone tells me the original sets are the ones with the superior video quality which I do not believe is the case.

Thanks!

They didn't even have nipples drawn, so as far as needing to edit it I'm kinda...

Can anyone confirm the resolution for Mysterious Girlfriend X from Sentai Filmworks? I got my copy in the mail from an Amazon sale last month and the back of the box claims it's 1080i, while the data on the site lists 1080p. Also, I'm wondering if the screencaps on the site's review are fully representative of its quality. The screencaps seem fine, but I've learned they can sometimes be less than useful in showcasing especially problematic areas of an encode.

I'd check all this myself but I don't have my Blu-ray player set up currently.

So, I don’t know if anyone has the Boku No Hero Academia movie yet, but, was wondering how Funimation’s BluRay is compared to the JP release?

Maiden Japan will be releasing a new Blu-ray for Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honneamise

https://twitter.com/WTK/status/1108810530473558017?s=19

It's not part of a new imprint and has a completely different cover from previous releases. Likely an updated encode.

Don’t own the film yet, so I might as well get this.

You need to own this film. Definitely in my top three favorite anime films of all time.

I know, I just didn’t get around to it yet. I’m hoping here they’ll fix the aspect ratio and not leave it pictureboxed like last time, if they make a new disc.

Well at least if you did we would know they wouldn't get the 24p SD on BD content wrong...

I feel like FUNimation needs you more though... or ANY quality control person at all...

Oh trust me, I’d love to, but so far only Sentai is hiring.

As for 24p, I’d be strict on that if it can be displayed at 24p with zero artifacts of doing it that way. If not, then 30i.

If I did some for FUNi, 95% of what they give me wouldn’t pass...

Well, I took a look at the first episode of Discotek's Kimagure Orange Road Blu-ray and nearly cried. So beautiful. I can't wait to sit down and actually watch it.

Bitrate analysis of the first disc:

Screenshot comparisons between the AnimEigo DVD and Discotek BD (a few are off by a frame or two, but I was too lazy to recapture them):

That is beautiful. Beyond beautiful. I’d say by those screenshots better than Ranma 1/2 on BD.

I cannot wait to be blown away while watching it whenever it arrives.

Definitely cleaner and clearer than Ranma, almost looks like it could be 35mm, but couldn't find any info on that.

Justin Sevakis (the disc's compressionist) said it's 16mm. After seeing the quality, you'd be mistaken for believing he's lying- it's THAT good and clean- with no aggressive DNR.
