Cowboy Bebop - The Movie - Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door – Dynit BD (Region B locked)
So this is the moment I never once thought could happen, but it really did happen: a Dynit release with English subtitles and dub! Seeing those English subtitles put a really big grin on my face, so a big thank you to everyone involved in this release! Hopefully the sales will perform well enough for Dynit to consider releasing other titles from the Sony catalog, such as Tokyo Godfathers. ![]() ![]() The quality is what one should expect from Dynit: an expertly crafted package put together with better care than last year’s offering from Funimation. I don’t think anyone will be disappointed by the encoding work found on the disc, though it must be said that this Blu-ray is based on an old HD transfer that was used for the original Sony DVD release. The HD transfer has held up well over the time and it has a nice filmic quality to it, but a new remaster would have been received with open arms. If you want to add Cowboy Bebop The Movie to your Blu-ray collection, then this is the release that you’ll want to buy. Strange that only the 1st screenshot (Dynit/Funi) from the Opening of the movie show that much difference, the rest of thoses screenshoots indeed show a difference in the grain, but it's not as big as I expected, probably because as you said the master is the same. (old HD transfer).
I wonder what's the deal with the opening for Funi to screw that much in that particular sequence. Really disapointed that Dynit did not include a French Sub track, especially since they still have pretty good relationship with Dybex (the TV serie Cowboy Bebop, Ergo Proxy, Ghost in the shell Innocence, etc.) But I also really hope that they include English subs in more releases in the future, it's a really good move. I also took some screenshots from the Daitarn 3 trailer (trailer is encoded with video bitrate of 30mbps):

Also- and this is a recommendation- y'all should check out at least the first episode of Daitarn 3- that episode is insanely hilarious for its sheer absurdity and I loved it. |

Can someone who has the Kizumonogatari films run a BDinfo scan and bitrate graph?
The back of the Japanese covers say it has 96kHz audio, and knowing the oddities of Kizu (and Monogatari as a whole), I wouldn't be surprised, but I'm curious if it's true... |

So, I assume would it’s best to get the older release instead of the RightStuf version? And “arguably better”, TrueHD vs LPCM?
