It was requested earlier in the thread but I'm personally interested to know the quality of Funimation's release of My Hero Academia: Two Heroes. I really liked that film in theaters and want to own it, but I'm always hesitant with Funi's BDs for some rather obvious reasons.

Can anyone provide screenshots comparing the MVM and Aniplex releases of Monogatari? I have the MVM releases (excepting Kizu) and I am on the fence about upgrading. The comparison in BigOnAnime's master list for Bakemono is broken, so if anyone has a more recent comparison it would be much appreciated.

Hmm, definitely some noticeable banding on that MVM release. Maybe I am due for an (expensive) upgrade...

I remember I bought the MVMs one Jan 2016 iirc loved the show so much by August I owned all of AoAs (up to that point). I have no idea how I afforded it now.

Well, Kizu is an MVM encode (not Hanabee in Australia), so it should it should be interesting to compare to the Aniplex release. Hope it has the 96kHz audio.

It’s not that noticeable on a smaller screen, but on a PC monitor or TV, it’s easy to spot.

Granted, the Aniplex release still has banding in it due to the master, but it’s made worse by the UK/AU BD.

Haven't heard anything bad about it. I don't have the BD myself but I can't imagine there being anything wrong since it's been out for a while.

All I remember was Justin Sevakis complaining about how there were zero extras unlike the then upcoming Broly film. Otherwise, I’ve heard nothing about it.

Shot 1 isn't a huge difference, shot 3 and shot 4 show the awful banding.

For me, the price difference meant I didn't and don't care about the banding on these.

Debated buying the Japanese BDs used at some point in the future if the prices drop enough to justify it. That's a big IF.

Decided to upload some caps of the old VAP release of "Lupin III: The Secret of Mamo".

For a decade old scan, it still looks generally fine (and a hell of a lot better than that excuse of an UHD). I find it funny how Cagliostro's original Blu is complete dogshite while Mamo looks much better despite Cagliostro being the more popular film.
