Looking at the screenshots, it looks pretty darn good for a standard definition presentation of presumably an older remaster.

They're the same. The Nozomi BD even has the BBFC ratings and AL logo printed onto the discs.

While I'm here, another (unrelated) question: which Nozomi Gundam release(s) have the revisionist audio? Was it 0083? I'm trying to figure out which Nozomi releases I need to replace with the Japanese releases.

The Movie Trilogy (of the OG Gundam) only has the sh*tty 5.1 remix and not the original Mono audio. The most recent JP re-release has only the Mono audio and has English subs. The UK/FR release have English subs and Mono audio as well.

0038 also is revisionist. Even the LPCM 2.0 track is sadly a downmix of the 5.1 track, which has new SFX and voice acting like the OG Gundam's Movie Trilogy.

Not sure about 08th MS Team, as that also had a 5.1 remix, but seeing as the compression on the Nozomi BD is pretty poor, I'd avoid that anyways.

I have the French (Anime Ltd.) release of the Movie Trilogy so I guess I'm OK? Looks like I'll be saving up for the Japanese release of 0083.

Another question: what was the issue with Sentai's release of Higurashi? I remember it being discussed a long way back but can't remember the details. I have the original (individual) releases which I guess are problematic. Was it incorrect gamma or something?

I seem to remember the Hyouka BD from Funi getting relatively good comments for it's A/V upon release here, but having had a quick look at my copy just now it has so much goddamn noise (even worse in motion), blocking and some banding that I'm surprised it was received so well. The JP BD isn't entirely free from it either, but it's much worse in Funi's version to the point that the colours sometimes end up looking pretty different.

Is there any information out there regarding the Euphonium 2 BDs from Pony Canyon?
I literally don't recall there being any talk about video quality, subtitles, filesizes etc. I'm especially interested in the release considering that we know Justin didn't author it unlike the rest of their titles. Considering the disc count I was wondering if they just used the JPN encodes.
