^Only banding I talked about was in regards to AkG!.
Out of curiosity, I finally took some shots of the FMA 2009 Season Sets (which dropped the alternate angles (it uses the JP logo for the eyecatches, and the English-translated OP/ED's) and reduced the disc count from 13 to 8) to match these (they're not exact, but close enough). I didn't really bother hunting down everything as it's been ages since I last saw any FMA. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...8#post11590838 https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...7#post11591247 I don't know how you're supposed to upscale them properly, so if someone wouldn't mind upscaling them so I could see how they fall inbetween the BD's and singles for video quality... http://i.imgur.com/dPtMsSA.png http://i.imgur.com/Lx4gWwv.png http://i.imgur.com/6gqB8nx.png http://i.imgur.com/1Vltf8P.png These discs (which I still haven't fully watched in the 5 years I've owned them....) definitely do have their fair share of problems (banding, blocking, artifacting) that I noticed when trying to find the correct spots to get the caps. Maybe I screwed something up in Media Player Classic when taking the shots (I did use "Save Image"), but in any case, the season sets do look to be an improvement, but obviously lose to the BD. Goes to show FUNi dropping alternate angles was a good thing as it helped the video quality (they're never going to get credits right anyway, sadly).
[Edit]I did take screencaps a while back for someone else to uspcale and compare, but it never happened. Those were 720x480 like so so I definitely must have done something. It's been ages since I last used MPC, and I'm now on Windows 10 instead of 8.1. Last edited by BigOnAnime; 05-04-2016 at 10:58 AM. |

Since the UK release of Blue Exorcist TV series was covered here, I was wondering if anyone covered the film version as well? I would like to see a comparison between the Manga UK & Aniplex version to see if it's worth going for the UK release or not. I liked the manga, want to own the series but I'm not feeling the Aniplex pricing honestly (the UK release for the main series is said to be pretty solid anyway).

Received a few titles today. Up first is a title I've been meaning to pick up for a while - Terror in Resonance - and let's just say I wish I hadn't bothered. Why do I even buy anime when they can't even get colours/gamma right? Even when that's okay there's generally some other glaring issue.

Hmm, anyone own the JPBD's for When They Cry: Kai? Sentai might have messed something up. Basically the issue has something to do with the framerate.

Apologies for bringing up an old one but does anyone know what the difference is between the two releases of "Royal Space Force?" I have the original Bandai set and I'm curious if it would be worth my while to double-dip on the Maiden Japan release.

Bandai Visual releases are "Japanese quality". Maiden Japan are normal, domestic releases. There's nothing to gain.
