Of the few Media Blasters/Anime Works Blu-rays I own I didn't notice any issues but they're all native HD titles. Until proven otherwise (or hire some new staff) rule of thumb might be to be cautious of any of their Blu-ray upscales

Brave Express Might Gaine - Bandai BD
(first time doing these kinda of posts, inspired by NLScavanger lol)

BDInfo for Episode 1 (don't have the whole series (or even episode) info on me atm lol, just using what mpv gave me ):
Code:
File: 00002.m2ts
Size: 6.784 GB
Video: h264 / MPEG-4 AVC / 1080p / 23.976 fps / 16:9
Video Bitrate: 36944 kbps
Audio: Japanese / LPCM / 2.0 / 48000 Hz
Audio Bitrate: 2310 kbps
Personal Thoughts:
Skimmed through the episodes, they look great, especially for a Q-TEC job of a 16mm anime, it's DNR'd but there's still visible healthy-looking grain, the lineart looks somewhat natural and the backgrounds have a good amount of detail even if it looks a bit flat
Also, even better are the Iron Leaguer BDs, which I only have an *ahem*
[Show spoiler]encode
of atm so I won't be posting the info for yet, but that also looks insanely good for a 16mm Q-TEC job, it's sharp

The person reported issues with episode 14 halfway to the end, and 15 to 18.

Media Blasters selected episode 19 on their video.

Not an anime, could've posted in this thread

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=183126

But since you asked it aired on TV in HD, so it's a native HD Blu-ray.

However the Season 1 Blu-ray has been OOP for a long time so if you really want it will probably need to buy it Used.

I unfortunately can't find the post but I remember reading a review saying the audio on the Blu-ray for episode 16 "Widow's Sting" is trimmed for unknown reasons so if true it's an unfortunate error by eOne that wasn't caught during Quality Control checks.

Also there are too many episodes per disc so there is banding. Season 2 arguably suffers worse because it has 2 lossless audio tracks instead of only 1.

There are the Australian Blu-rays but they have their own set of problems too. Season 1 is 1080i instead of 1080p and has lossy audio instead of lossless. They may or may not both be region free so if you decide to get them instead hopefully you have a region free Blu-ray player.

I've been patiently waiting for a US Blu-ray release that hopefully is done better. Disney is releasing the Mandalorian on Blu-ray & 4K so guess it shows the company does still care about physical media and making money.

I have read that the australian version Bluray is worse on quality of video but unfortunately
i see too that eOne have their own issues

On DVD set they are scored 4 of 5 from dvd talk ( Video+Sound+Extras ) hmm i think the DVD set have superior quality than Blurays , even the DVD set they have sold much more than the Blurays

Ya lets hope one day they release a new bluray set .

Thanks for the answer

I'm not knowledgable on any of the releases for the 2003 version, but for Brotherhood, the AoA release is the best one.

EDIT: The new Italian release which I just found out about, is actually supposed to be better, from what NLScavenger said below.

Assuming costing an arm and leg isn't a problem.

The upcoming Italian set from Dynit will be the best for Brotherhood+OVA, but it's not English friendly

I think it's the first time I see an official release do a reverse upscale like some of fansubbers do. Reverse upscaling can improve image quality of anime releases that were upscaled using less than optimal algorithms like bilinear.

For those equipped with HDR compatible devices (HDR TV or HDR phone), here's an HDR comparison between the JP BD and JP UHD versions of Suzume:

Something must be dead wrong with the brightness levels of the SDR presentation. Another sensational video trying to show the wonders of HDR by downplaying the SDR version rendering accurate comparisons impossible.

Here's the actual difference if the current screencaptures we're given are to be believed, and I hope it's a mistake because the HDR is wrecking the highlights with lots of clipped detail.
