Haven't had a chance to watch it all the way through, but here's an assortment of random screencaps:

I was perusing the Lupin Zero Amazon listing and the only review for it calls the video bootleg DVD quality. Is this the truth? What would be the reason for that on such a recent show?

On the topic of other fans complaining I read some criticism about the Cromartie High School Blu-ray saying the 5.1 English audio levels are all over the place... Don't know if actually true but my guess is the people complaining didn't have their surround system set up properly or don't know how to adjust output from 5.1 to 2.0 stereo

It's also possible this is how the mix was done. Many 5.1 upmixes back in the day were not good and had many problems.

so they used the same production methods for Megalo Box in which they made the show at a purposely low resolution (400p-ish?) and then upscaled it & added filters to make it look "retro" but it just looks like garbage, so the show looks bad to begin with no matter what

Beginning to wonder again if when stuff is reviewed, if the person reviewing did a thorough look at the discs and packaging, or even saw the whole thing. I saw The Familiar of Zero complete series release was reviewed, and they failed to note S2-S4 are subbed-only... Now some may be led to believe Sentai finally dubbed what Geneon couldn't when that isn't the case.
Quote:
The release includes a selection of lossless audio options: English DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 and Japanese DTS-HD Master Audio (with English subtitles). The lossless audio on the release offers audiences a decent sound experience. The lossless audio capably reproduces the soundstage – enhancing the audio track. Dialogue remains easy to understand on the release. The track is somewhat reserved sounding and the sound staging isn't as engaging or creative as hoped for. The track also is somewhat less engaging compared to newer anime productions. Given the time period of the series production, the release sounds good and fans won't find major qualms.

This makes it more frustrating my submission to correct a mistake with the original submission was denied. I didn't leave the audio field blank, tried to blank it soon after the release was created so it would pull the info from the bundle ID field, and the submission was rejected. I sent a PM pointing out what the back cover said and what I did with the Canadian listing (left the audio field blank and thus it shows only S1 has English audio) and never got a response.

I was correcting a mistake I made with the original submission. I should have left the audio field blank so it would autofill from the bundle field like with the Canadian listing (which I did not make that mistake with) showing that only the first season contains English audio, as can be seen on the back cover, just like the 2017 release. Right now the listing makes it appear the whole series contains both English and Japanese audio as there's not even a note to point out only the first season has English audio.
Anyway, anyone know what screenshots appear to be S3? Jeffrey Kauffman reviewed only S1, Kenneth Brown reviewed S2, and S3 and S4 went unreviewed as per usual (How many times has stuff not been reviewed all the way from the beginning to the end? One of the worst was Aquarion Evol where the S1 LE was originally titled simply "Aquarion Evol" and the title field locked, with Part 2 never being reviewed.). The screenshots in the complete series review are not in order, only the S4 ones are easy to notice because that season I know for sure was HD-native.

I've got a nitpick with the S2 review too. He implied Sentai dubbed S1, they didn't. They could have worded it in a way that pointed out the disappointment of S2 not having a dub, but that Sentai wasn't the one that originally dubbed S1.
Quote:
If you really enjoyed The Familiar of Zero's first season, diving headlong into Knight of the Twin Moons is a no-brainer. If you're new to the series or on the fence, though, the second season isn't likely to covert you into the fold. Some aspects of the show improve; most do not, and it's in those problematic areas that The Familiar of Zero continues to frustrate and turn off the very genre fans it's targeting. Sentai's Blu-ray release isn't much better. Season Two features a mediocre video presentation, doesn't offer any substantial special features, and ditches the first season's two-disc format and English dub in favor of a single disc and a Japanese-only audio presentation. Said DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 stereo track is a solid one, but it can't make up for the rest of the release's shortcomings all by its lonesome.

Whelp. Now to continue to wonder how S3 looked on Blu-ray...

Also that reminds me, the Chu2koi Ultimate Collection review seemed to have screenshots from only S1. None from S2, nor the movies, and the individual releases were never reviewed. Also while this would require looking at the JP release info, they didn't note that Sentai's release of S1 lacks the making-of extras on the JP Blu-ray singles (it was stripped from the box set). The rare time Japan actually makes one of those and we don't get it, along with various shorts (the non-Lite ones), sigh. The Ultimate Collection re-release remains a missed opportunity just like the previous one.

Saw the Release Trailer for this Release, Wow this is terrible. Whoever thought using AI Upscaling for this should be ashamed; Urotsukidoji is a Classic and deserves WAY Better than this.

Here's Some more Images that i captured from the Trailer, these are SFW

Inu-Oh JP BD / US BD / UK+FR BD comparison (not by me): https://slow.pics/c/6jqXoNg4/

UK+FR BD is 24fps instead of 23.976fps, so there's a chance it was sourced from theatrical master. Not aware of any differences between theatrical and home video. The tint difference between US/JP and UK+FR may have been caused by the rounding method used in the 8-bit conversion.

I'm still undecided on which release I'll pick up. UK BD does have JP BD extras unlike US BD. There's a Dutch BD but probably not worth my time.
