I'm not pro piracy, but im not going to tell alot of people on here, or who many stumble on here how to do it. so dont ask!
If it really was, the news would be all over the net because cracking BD+ would be cred worthy for those who did it.

So I will call you a troll until it has been confirmed as fact.

Yes, eye two am also being won that have been seen with cracking the bdpluss. It is true! they have been cracked for all ten years! BD having never been cracked was cracked on this day with my own eyes! And they have yet to crack this BD? Fools! Yes, many of the people here, having cracked the BD, and also are boiling the BD, have made many important thing from the cracks!

You are the ones who are not the crack makers in the BD++! We, having the cracks been made, are Pirates of the levels of superiorness, like those of the Caribbean! Many have cracked! You are of nothing of consequence! You are not the crack makers. We are the crack makers, and we are already having win the glorious war of BD crack making fighters. No! The truth - we are already won and have defeated the non-crackers, who are running back to the hills with their heads in their hands and their underpants! We will won the crack war of tomorrow! Long Live Jambi!!!

Default Introduction...

Hi, I'm going to tell you something exists, but give no proof. Please leave a message after the beep...

If you want to make wild statements about technologically important items, but give not even the slightest explanation or information to show that you're not just pulling this wild story out of your backside, you have to expect some disbelief from the audience.

By the way, it's humor - get a sense of it. Thanks for your posts.

Default Ok, ok...

So everybody likes to use the word "troll" now.... great, now I've used it... big deal. If he weighs the same as a duck, he''s made of wood - and therefore a troll. Let's stop the troll hunt before it begins people. We've got better things to do than turn into the BDV$ forum, complete with spastically firing Ban Gun...

Crap. Went there out of curiosity and they are down and logged my ip address. Well, it's not a crime to look.

I am not famililar with the particulars of encryption, but if it involved the 128bit encrytion, as I suggested some years ago on this forum, it would take a LONG, LONG time to crack.

I think those who thought it was cracked are hearing old news. Before it was released they found that it was as easily cracked as AACS, which was cracked months ago. So they recalled it, worked on it, and only recently re-released it. It has so far remained uncracked since then but will be cracked someday, only a matter of time.
Either that are they are confusing AACS with BD+. To very different things. AACS was cracked months ago!

Pretty well anything can be cracked..the questions are..

1. How long does each crack take?
2. How big is the effort required for each crack?

If either 1 or 2 or both are too high then you marginalize the incentive of doing it..If every title takes weeks of effort to break by someone .. then they will give up and or won't be able to keep up with title releases at that rate.

If they can come up with something generic that works for each title then I guess they will have beat it...but if they crack a particular title and they have to put in significant effort for each one they have lost and the studios have won..doesn't matter if it is crackable..

If you want my honest opinion, the studios deserve to have their movies ripped and money stolen for being ignorant and not implementing a better copy protection scheme.
and if that is not enough they also have water marking outside of just BD+
so that's :
blu-ray
has
AACS
BD+
WATER MARKING

HD DVD
has
AACS

3TO 1 COPY PROTECTION IN Blu-Ray over HD DVD its meant to protect packaged media...not so in the case of HD DVD thus again HD DVD was never meant to eventualy replace the DVD format...ITS A STOP GAP TO DIGITAL DOWNLOADS

According to this story on CDRinfo.com, they can crack BD+
<LINK REMOVED>

HOWEVER, there was this passage:

"But until now, it is uncertain whether this title-specific security code (BD+ content code) will be included by Studios on a title-by-title basis. In that case, breaking the whole protection scheme would be more complicated. "

I hope so.

Please do not name cracking products or discuss any cracking methodologies on the forum. It's not good for Blu, (and not bad enough for HD), and it doesn't look good to the industry people lurking(as well as being a forum rules violation)

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding

All they say is "soon".

Rhetorical question, who do you think would benefit the most from BD+ getting cracked?

Lets admit that not only is it not likely to happen, it is not something that should be discussed cause it is illegal and hurts the industry. If you look at it, we have 3 protection barriers to crack (AACS, BD+, BDwatermark), while HD-DVD has 1 which has been cracked months ago (AACS).
It is not important if BD+ can or can not be cracked. It will happen eventually if not already. But HD-DVD advocates have no basis for criticism, HD-DVD doesn't even try to stop piracy.
I think this topic should be closed now.

Exclamation Circuit City - US$198 HD DVD Player

Looks like Circuit City have joined Walmart in selling US$198 HD DVD players. a concerning development; perhaps a board wide boycott of CC is advisable?
