lame...

better to take that 100 dollars and buy films for you BD player then to buy a crippled player for an inferior format. Only HD-DUD owners would think 1080i is adequate and that's because they are used to looking at an inferior picture quality from the get go.

He's an American consumer making a decision based on factors he thinks matter to him. He doesn't fancy himself a member of the French resistancce, blowing up Nazi trains.

Agree with his reasoning or disagree but the BDA has to factor the tastes of mainstream consumers into their strategy.

For what it's worth.
Wow a voice of reason, watch out for the Blu-Nazi's tho. They'll toast you. LMAO!

The problem with this post is not the fact that blu-ray.com forum members purchased/will purchase a Toshiba A2. The problem with the post is that many forum members feel it is unecessary to tell us about the fact that they purchased/will purchase a Toshiba A2 on blu-ray.com.

I'm tempted to do the same thing.

Another way to look at, if I buy one, that's one less HD-DVD player on the market, which means one less NEW HD-DVD fanboy.

Think of it as preemptive strike.

Sounds like a desperate way to clear out inventory. It's not even at all wal-marts. I would buy it, so I could destroy it. I think that would be worth it. I will buy a copy of transformers, put it in the player and play it, and take a sledgehammer to that POS. Sound like good youtube material. But then again, buying it would pretty much go against every thing I stand for (blu of course).
Come on man.

Can't you see all of the other posts here about the fire sale?

Honestly, I HATE both Blu-Fanboy's and HD-DVD Fanboy's... Both groups are absolutely retarded....Right now I prefer Blu-Ray which is why I'm here but the cut-throat attitudes are insane. I think people should be more open minded and enjoy all technology in general. The no middle ground thing is infantile. YES I'd like to see an ultimate winner and I will strongly support Blu but should HD-DVD come out on top, I'm not gonna fold like a cheap Wal-Mart Lawn chair if such an event happens. I'm also not gonna throw a party like I just won the Super Bowl if Blu wins. I don't make any money off either format so in the end, why do I really give a flying you know what?!

Only works if you buy ZERO movies for it.

Honestly, it could also be bad to just sweep this under-the-rug. I'm sure people in the BDA read this forum and if they realize what might be going on, they may get their collective asses together and counter, which will benefit all Blu-Ray supporters and future Blu supporters

UPDATE: Be aware that this player DOES NOT support 1080p. It will do 1080i/720p only.

Keep what to myself? That I support Blu-Ray? or that I am pondering supporting both HDM formats because it's just technology? OK, ill shut up and just go purple quietly....lol
