Already in for Desperately Seeking Susan (long-time Madonna fan). Thinking about Topkapi...

Indeed. It's been there all the time but I missed it. So many titles! Now added.

Got in for Topkapi, Jennifer, To All a Goodnight, and Planet of the Vampires.

Can't decide on True Confessions, Last Embrace and Gorky Park. They seem like films I want to see, but can't see myself going through them more than once.

Akijama,

I've helped with the rearranging of the first post of this thread. A believe all titles -- pre-announced and already available for pre-order -- are there, but please check to confirm that I have not missed any.

I hope this would work

Have a great weekend.

I've ordered Planet Of The Vampires but I might wait to see if Billion Dollar Brain is uncut and to see whether Gorky Park has a decent transfer. I can't decide about Last Embrace, there's a lot I like about it and I think it could have been a good film with a better director but Demme seems to have no grip on it and the performances are all over the place. Might pick it up when it's cheap.

Fairly incredible lineup and productivity for a few months in a new boutique line.

I´m not looking forward to any Kino Lorber Blu-ray release because I´ve just find out that their Bronson Blu-ray "Mr Majestyk" looks awful.

The same crappy picture quality as the German Blu-ray

I also read that the "Marty" Blu-ray isn´t good.

The PQ on Marty is fine, but the aspect ratio is 1:1.33 (or 4:3), not 1.85. According to believable sources, 1.85 is the correct OAR. Also, some people have complained that the picture looks dark. Since most of the film takes place at night or indoors, that may be intentional. Anyway, it's still a great film and a marked improvement over the DVD release.

Sorry to hear about Mr. Majestyk. It's obvious that KL is just taking what the studios are giving them and passing it along.

Kino is not doing any remastering on these titles. They are releasing the HD transfers prepared by MGM. Unless you absolutely must have a title I would wait for feedback from reviews and others. I have to say, Paris Blues, Witness for the Prosecution and Separate Tables look quite good though. Paris Blues was my most anticipated of the early batch and I was not disappointed in the least.

I am not seeing any problem with this, Brad

This is precisely what the likes of Arrow do in the UK as well. In fact, out of all the 'majors' that prepped masters and these masters are now available to smaller companies, MGM's have been the very best (while Universal's have been the worst).

Kino's output is more than fine.

Yeah, So far 3 for 3 for me and no complaints. I'm just happy to have them in my collection. Paris Blues as far as I know was never released on DVD in the U.S, so I would have been happy with it regardless.

I was not really complaining, I was responding to what others having been saying about the PQ. :-)

these releases are going to be just like what OLIVE and TWILIGHT TIME are offering... HD versions of catalog titles but without expensive re-mastering. To expect anything more is unrealistic. I saw the screen caps of MR MAJESTYK this morning on DVD BEAVER and the transfer looks like what I would expect. The upgrade to 1080p is still a marked improvement from the dvd... I'm happy to get them!!
