Hello. I have been swatted recently with HDCP problems recently, the player has been acting up as of today with me, screens that used to work with this device don't work anymore, except for 4K displays. Changing resolutions doesn't fix the problem. Used to work flawlessly with a 1080p display that was being used with this player, but now it refuses to display anything at any resolution. Any advice on what can I do?

No; No video at all when turning on device, no file playback attempted. Audio works perfecly with disc playback and exhibits no problems when outputting via the digital coaxial output. Once again, player has no problems at all when connected to a 4K TV (doesn't even have to be an HDMI 2.0 port).

I have no idea what is going on with some blu rays I check out, really only on recent digitally shot movies, where stuff in motion can look terrible and hurts to look at, I have no idea how to describe the effect. It happens the worst when it's a sequence at night where it ain't well lit, this stuff clumps around a moving object. I have no idea if it's the player, the disc, or my tv. It looked really really bad when I rented Nope on blu ray but had no issues when I rented top gun maverick on blu ray.

Most people don't, and I don't blame them as you wouldn't think that a Sony BD player would have noise reduction enabled by default. But they do, and it needs turning off!

Since this player doesn't automatically detect which HDR a 4k disc has therefore having to manually turn DV on or off, should I keep DV on since HDR10 only movies still play with the DV setting on or should I just deal with having to switch HDR formats every time I pop in a movie based on DV availability?

If a movie is HDR10 only, the player should default to HDR10 anyway, whether if the DV is on or not. I would get a different brand because, Sony had screwed up on their 4K Blu-ray players big time.
