I used Amazon to test HDR without an issue. I also watched 3 hours of Amazon SDR last night without a glitch.
I do not use CEC. |

Up970 don't currently have CEC Shutoff option switch. For now you need to buy the Lindy Adapter for disabling CEC.
Thus I gather if you use ARC____ Turn on UP970___ ARC then turns on TV. I gather if you turn on TV first___the TV connected HDMI ARC then turns on UP970. I don't use ARC myself Last edited by E6AtmosVuduDV; 01-25-2018 at 05:25 PM. |

UBPX700 is sold at Best Buy.com. One day delivery is available. Probably one can pick a BB store front to pick it up as well.
Included Remote is Tiny tho. Maybe buy a nice Universal back lit remote as upgrade. 4 year Geek Protection/Replacement Plan is $40 for the x700. DV FW in Summer. Guess thats to Aug 2018. Deal Prices do occur when one is patient. Last edited by E6AtmosVuduDV; 01-25-2018 at 06:08 PM. |

Had an Interesting thought. For some it may make sense.
Buy x800 for like $150. Use it till Aug 2018. For HDR10. When X700 DV FW comes out then buy x700 on a Big sale. What? like sale at under $200. Then sell the x800. Net cost then for the x700 could be really really cheap. |

How much you think the X800 is going to be worth used in a few months?
If you have an X800 now, just wait unless you want Amazon HDR (or just get an ATV4K). Buy the X700 when you want Dolby Vision and its ready. If you need one now, just buy the X700. |

Most peoples have a HDR10 player now. One brand or another. These peoples can be patient.
Sony did say their x800, 1000es is are their Flag Ship models. It could very well hold $150-200 for x800. Well at least until a new Sony Flag Ship arrives with DV and nice remote. By Summer Aug theres going to be lots Brands DV Players out there. To me that means Price Wars for non Flag Ship models. Any DV FW's by whatever Brand should be out by August. Hey. If one sell used x800, throwing in three 4k UHD disc you no longer watch... you should get your price. Last edited by E6AtmosVuduDV; 01-25-2018 at 06:46 PM. Reason: Finishing |

Yeah, but comparing the X800 to the X700, what does Flagship even mean? Heavier?
X700 has Amazon HDR, X800 does not, and X700 will get DV. Once again, if you have an X800, no need to hurry, if you need one now, go ahead with the X700. |

Buy an Oppo 203 for $550 and sell it five years from now for $550.
Because with all the new firmwares it will keep getting, including the newest Dolby Vision improvements, its value remains super solid over time, without taking a hit. Lol, what a funny bunch we are. The Sony 700 mini-me will be worth twenty bucks two years from now. It's perfect for watching movies while taking a bath or shower. Just put a swimming cap on top, wrapped in it. |

Oppo 203 5 years from now?? HDMI 2.1abc??? Thats what peoples pay for. When talking Big Bucks
In 5yrs $550 for hdmi 2.0ab. About $450 too much. Frankly the DV PQ on my Disc Player from Aug FW so Magnificient I seriously think theres not much room for substantial DV PQ improvement. To buy oppo 203 just for that. https://www.pcmag.com/article/358543...u-need-to-know https://www.commercialintegrator.com...mi-2-1-change/ Last edited by E6AtmosVuduDV; 01-26-2018 at 02:59 AM. I tried out 2 X800s last year and they both skipped frames about every 2 minutes when streaming The Little House on the Prairie episodes in Vudu when I enabled 24p for network content. I have not tried other content in Vudu on that player. Does the X700 exhibit the same issue with skipping frames at 24p in Vudu specifically with this TV show or other content in Vudu?

The X700 has not even been reviewed yet by users here and no one knows what issues it has. I think its pricey at $249.99. The price should be $179.99. Also 4k UHD bluray players are not good audio video streamers. If you buy it for only streaming purposes, its a waste of money. I thought that you wanted stay with iTunes since you an Apple TV 4k and it has most of the major video streaming providers such as iTunes, Netflix, Vudu, Hulu, and Amazon Prime. You also have a lot of digital movies on iTunes. If you go back to physical media, you wasted your money on digital movies. You should know by now that Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and Amazon are all carrying less movies on physical media to no movies on physical media. I think the main reasons you want go back to physical media is: 1. iTunes may have the wrong aspect ratio on some the movies. Its not iTunes fault to have the wrong aspect ratio, its the movie studios that provide the content to iTunes. 2. You mentioned on the iTunes forum is that you get a 2 seconds of skipped frames on the ending credits for each movie on the Apple TV 4k. I think that most people here don't watch the ending credits on the films they watched. |

It won't be able to upscale to 8K? Well, that's the same boat all the other 4K players are in right now. Later on this year HDMI 2.1 will start appearing slowly in some products. And in 2019 we'll be more submerged. 8K might be here sooner than we think, and 3D might come back in 2020...in TVs. Dolby Vision is the "soapa", soap opera of the cinema. The name scares the hell of the devil himself. Who here doesn't want Dolby Vision? Who here doesn't want 3D UHD glasses-free? |

Read my first link about 4k at HDMI 2.1 at 48 Gbps. !!! above.
Thats AMOUNG one reason why I think by 3-5 years OPPO 203 would be hard sell at $550. Its like the OPPO 103 sitting at Amazon SQUAT $500-1300 for EVER. When x700 drops to under 100 it can go to Kids, grand kids as their family extra treasure/joy. Trying in 5 years to sell OPPO at 550... Wheres the Joy. Paying $150 for Sony x700, LG UP970... is for Temp Surf. In year or two Get 4K HDMI 2.1 unit for the more Enhancement. Buying again on the Cheap. Anyways. I was just responding to your Selling OPPO 203 at $550 later in 5 years. Dumb Buyers who knows not of 4k hdmi 2.1 Enhancement Potentials or 8k might swallow. And when the wisely finds out... that swallow going down will Choke Last edited by E6AtmosVuduDV; 01-26-2018 at 05:50 AM. |
