Yeah id wait till the new Panasonic player comes out that supposed to support all, assuming the price is right otherwise i might look to a oppo player. Otherwise Id really love Sony to get their act together and support DV via successful software update or just release new players/tv with it built in, besides their flagship oled set which i cant afford anyway.

One those new Panny 999 pounds sterling. One 377 pounds sterling. Thats HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision as you say "support all".

It's not the first time Sony have done this.

My BDP-S790 has an "AV Separation Output Mode" setting for both HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 output ports. This is for up-sampled 4K video on HDMI 1 and audio on HDMI 2; or not. This 4K output is predecessor to the current 4K specification.

Ignore anything he says, all he does is spam on all the threads how smart he is with the purchase of his Best Buy protection plans and LG uhd players and how he is considerably richer than you but buys cheap

Iain.

Post #433 upThread German review states the x700 is not the Sony's Flagship DV Player's model.

I have a Sony TV which I prefer a brand Flagship DV disc player(without analogue outs).

From that recient German review of the x700...

Unlikely anytime soon. Sony typically announces its Blu-ray players at CES, which won't be held again until January 2019.

I'm anxiously waiting for that, as I'm expecting Sony to announce the rumored Z9F then. Would be nice if a new flagship player to go with that would also be announced.

Bob
The best ride? Enjoying $4.6 millon like James.

How many have done it? And hangs out on a x700 forum.
My money would be on you.

Me. Just give me a Z9F. With all the new Improvements. And my Happiness would be UnMeasurable. Hope it has 3D.

Today's March 15, 2018 ... the best is yet to come. ...And DV too, outside of streaming. Spring's break coming up.

I've been SO tempted by this player. But with all of the reported problems - freezing, jamming, etc. - I'm veering more and more towards the Samsung m9500. No Dolby Vision, which is a shame, but at least it appears to play movies from start to finish!

I'm not made of money, despite my 'spensive purchases. Spent three grand on a Sony 4K five years ago, saved up and did it again for the ZD9 last year, so unless my 65ZD9 blows up I'm not getting another TV for a good long while yet. I wouldn't mind getting a look at the 75ZD9 though, were one to become available for a reasonable price , because it's got a more responsive panel than the 65" and more dimming zones too. If I were to win the lottery tomorrow I'd have a hard time resisting the 100ZD9 though, even with the ZF9 looming on the horizon.
