I just use a soft cloth or microfiber. Wipe the smudge or fingerprint off and stick the disc in the player. Bluray and UHD discs are damn hard to scratch without some deliberate aggressive negligence. You dont need to baby them unless it is an OCD thing.

My X700 connects to a Sony DN1080 amp then to an LG C6. As far as I remember the setting on the X700 was left at auto which was set to Auto 1, but I've changed it to Auto 2 which seemed to be a better setting when connected to a non Sony TV.

On my Sony 7200 4K player... Auto1 sends 2k to TV(And thus the TV do upscaling). Cource Sony TV known for good upscaling. Auto2 sends 4K to TV. Thus the Disc Player do the upscaling. In the past when I looked online the Sony x700 advanced manual... I believe it said same as aforementioned. If you compare at your home... other DV Disc Players to x700... you will find some other DV Disc Players doing better upscaling. I know first hand two others DV disc players have better upscaling for 1080p to 4K. If I still had the Sony x700... I would let the Z9D or its next generation series "F" do the 1080p to 4K upscaling. Thus the reason I want to audition the next generation of the Sony x800 and hopefully it will have Disc Dolby Vision. DV Netflix App, Vudu DV App. _______ Your LG C6 OLED has Dolby Vision. No one but No one in public knows if the Sony x700 will play DV Disc to your C6. Your C6 is full profile DV. Sony DV TV's are Low Latency DV. Thats what Sony Low Latency DV x700 designed to do. Partridge.
I have the Sony 7200. I set it to Auto2 so it outputs video in 4K to one of my LED TV's thats not a Sony. https://www.sony.com/electronics/blu...yers/bdp-s7200 Last edited by E6AtmosVuduDV; 05-14-2018 at 02:28 AM. |

...To be more exactly precise. Might as well buy the Sony X700 to view Black Panther 4K BR in full genuine UHD glory. |

E6 and the Hobbit were separated at birth I think. Born 182 seconds apart.

You have a LG C6 OLED 4K/3D TV, which upscales better than the Sony X700 4K BR player.
• Leave the Sony 4K setting @ its default ... [Auto1] * Normally it's the best setting for most 4K TVs, any brand; LG, Sony, Samsung, TCL, Panasonic, Vizio, ... It's no wonder Sony uses it as its default setting. Last edited by LordoftheRings; 05-16-2018 at 04:24 AM. |

A 4K LG LED TV? ...A true 4K UHD Blu-ray player, like the Sony X700?

How have people found it when they play a 4K disc with some minor scratches on?
I bought MOS a little while ago and checked the disc the other day and it some small scratches. Haven't tried it yet in my player. Only other disc I have had a problem with so far has been Dunkirk. Both by WB coincidentally. |
