I’m getting 15.25 Mbps/2160 (from player’s info) and (from projector’s info) 3840x2160, 23.97Hz, 12 bit 4:2:2, BT.2020 HDR Play Blade Runner 2048 Ultra HD 4K, and all is the same but 2.20 Mbps/2160 (player’s) and color format is BT.709 SDR (projector’s). Paying for internet that is 100M/40M. Speedtest app on iPad shows 101/40.3, ping 3ms, jitter 2.2ms, loss 0%. I still haven’t dug out the cable; it’s behind there somewhere. Edit: turned on Dolby Vision Output, and now color format is BT.2020 HDR for Blade Runner 2049. Netflix isn’t showing any movies with Dolby Vision badges. I’m not really big into streaming, I get Netflix for a month here and there at a time. Still annoying how hard it is to make sure sound and picture is as good as it cam be, for a while I had Dolby Digital 2.0, even though PS3 was 5.1. Now got the player sending Dolby Digital 5.1. Wish I could get lossless audio. At times I think it’s just Netflix in Taiwan. But I’m not sure. Edit 2: Am not a fan of this players settings. Put in a Blu-ray and color format is BT.2020 HDR but for the Blu-rat it should be BT.709 SDR, so turned of Dolby Vision again. Gotta remember to turn off. I've been messing with this UHD player for a while. Glad that the Dolby Vision option works, at least according to my Scott Pilgrim UHD disc. Would've loved it if it's set automatically based on content, though. Setting Dolby Vision to On means it's on all the time, and it's hard to tell what it or isn't true Dolby Vision (or even HDR or SDR) with it on in perpetuity.
Has the newest UBP-X800M2 gave Dolby Vision an Auto option, or is it still on the On/Off switch option? |

Recently purchased the X700 and I’m having an issue with freezing. Tried to watch my brand new 4k Blu-ray of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey EE and it is freezing on the Goblin King scene not sure the exact time stamp and have had some audio skipping issues in John Wick 3. Wondering if it is even worth trying to stay with physical media and get a new player or just use my Apple TV 4K. Setup is LG OLED CX, Sonos Arc 5.1, and Sony x700.

1) What is the consensus on multi region players and their legality?
2) Is it legal to own a multi region blu ray player? 3) If you own one - is it safe to turn on internet capability to allow firmware updates? Or will the likes of Sony be able to tell you have one and frown upon it? |

The Panasonic UB450 doesn’t support DV as far as I can tell. The discs I was trying to play were brand new, just opened the plastic and put them in. I’m wondering if it’s not a heat issue; after reading about the x700 issues I am leaving my entertainment center doors open while playing and it hasn’t froze after about 1.5 hours of playtime on The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug. Thanks for the suggestions!

Have a look around to see if you can get a region free import 450, aside from the fun size remote they're great. |

Something is not right with your video settings on your blu-ray or TV because, if your blu-ray player and TV doesn't detect a Dolby Vision signal on the disc, the movie or program (whichever your watching) should automatically play the content in HDR10 or just standard 1080p. What do you have you video setting selected on?
