Others here can chime in as to the comparison. I’ll point out the comments on that thread are yet another example, like so many others previously, as to why this forum has consistently been ahead of the pack. I scrolled thru the comments and I see that over there the writers have just now ![]() from last October, a heads-up to qualified locals - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...w#post12826906 and, for puddy who at the time desired more, the white paper - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...r#post13291487 Éclair had a presence at the HPA Tech Retreat, and Pixelogic (for the sake of their Dolby Vision readership, I hope AVS writers have at least heard of that company by now) just recently at the HPA Tech Retreat UK. |

I still flinch a little every August when I think back, now nearly 10 years ago, when I found out prior to the official announcement and the journalists that Paramount chose HD DVD over Blu-ray and
how I should write/compose an early heads-up about it (https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...vd#post8319281) in order to ease Blu-ray supporters into the notion that the format war had just become more difficult and complicated with that move....rather than supporters dealing with the announcement cold turkey. |

And in the continuing evolution of new technology as exclusively posted here on May 5th - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...i#post13563059 and actually mentioned in last New Year’s Eve predictions - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...d#post13052646, when it was on nobody else's radar screen. Now, with regards to a commercial presentation of the feature film Spider-Man: Homecoming on the Samsung LED direct view digital cinema display to paying customers, we now have the first reporter’s impressions of the image and sound from the premiere installation in Korea….. http://www.etoday.co.kr/news/section...?idxno=1515512 (if zee eyes are tired, just turn up the ambient lighting some ![]() |

The world 's first cinema LED without projectors was unveiled to the general public from the 14th. How will ordinary audiences evaluate the Cinema LED? Samsung Electronics unveiled its Cinema LED for the first time on March 13 by holding a media conference at Lotte World Cinema in Jamshil, Songpa-gu, Seoul. The reporter attended the round-table conference and listened to the screen in a variety of technical terms, but did not feel the difference in a short time. The journalist who felt the limit of 'penis (?)' Was once again headed to the rampant. The 'Super S' Pavilion with Cinema LED is located on the 8th floor and is the movie 'Spider-Man: Homecamping', which has been making its debut recently in theaters. On the first day of the opening, I already watched in 3D, but when I saw it on the LED screen, I was glad to buy a movie ticket. Super S's movie tickets are set at 12,000 won on weekdays and 13,000 won on weekends, which is 2,000 won higher than normal 2D screenings. However, until the end of August to commemorate the opening of the Super S pipe which installed the Cinema LED, it can be seen at the same price as a general movie theater. I am sorry to miss the prime time, but even though it was late in the movie night, I had a seat more than I thought. As a teenager, I thought that most of my young friends were due to the nature of the main character. The movie started and I felt it at the reporters' meeting, but the sound coming from Haman's JBL speakers is quite vivid. Super S tube was directly tuned by a sound expert in Haman. You can enjoy the movie with the same sound even if you sit in any seat. It's not a musical movie, so even though it's not a 'sensation of sounding' at all, it's just as vivid as when Peter Parker glides through New York City with his web. I was disappointed after seeing the musical movie 'LARA RAND' in the sound specialist hall. The sound of the Super S tube was satisfactory to the reporter who was followed by the movie. When the movie ends, the blue interior lights on both sides turn on. In the old theater, when the credit goes up after the movie ends, the screen does not look well when the light is turned on, but it still looks vivid. With the software that automatically adjusts the calibration, it is the biggest advantage of the Cinema LED that the screen is clearly visible even in the lit environment. Spider-Man Needs Patience: After Homecoming's second cookie video, I asked the audience who watched the movie with the Cinema LED carefully. "I can feel the difference in image quality with the existing screen, but my eyes are quite tired," said Mr. A, an officer who is usually looking for a technical specialist and watching movies. "I used to shoot projectors on a white screen, I felt that it was not implemented, but it certainly looks better on that part. " Mr. B, who came out to watch late-night movies because of the heat wave, said, "I think the picture quality is good and the sound is good, but the screen is small." If you install it in other theaters in the future, . Jung Yoo Hyun reporter yhssoo@etoday.co.kr |

^ A most interesting translation. Use of "rampant" and "penis" in the same paragraph was quite titilating. And one spectator had tired eyes after the presentation. Was it due to all the web-slinging or the HDR ? Suppose we'll never know.
From my phone I couldn't get it to perform a translation myself, so, interesting and fun to say the least. Last edited by gkolb; 07-22-2017 at 03:30 AM. |
