Regarding HFR:

Pardon my brevity of your quote, but this is an important item to know and is so very true. Live sports is the best and most important content application for HFR and it's not just the fast moving humans in action and their projected objects, like ice hockey pucks, but the fast camera panning that can sometimes be used in live sports.

Bring it on, I'm hungry for UHD, HLG HDR, and HFR for broadcast sports!

For all of the movie and broadcast and streaming series lovers:

For Hollywood content and all of the great new UHD/HDR streaming the new TV System is serving the video enthusiasts very very well. IN fact, the new TV System is what has finally convinced the hard core and loving Kuro and Panasonic PDPs holdouts to move into the latest generations of OLED and premium LCD/LED TVs that now deliver a stunning image quality.

I'm thoroughly enjoying what we've begun to see in the past year and I'm looking forward to properly implemented HDR as needed with select content.

I'd also like to see even more efficient digital compression beyond what the great H265 does so well, but it's compression that can sometime damage an otherwise beautiful UHD/HDR picture so HDMI 2.1 with the 48Gbps bandwidth or a more efficient CODEX would be a nice upgrade to UHD/HDR.

rec.2020 color gamut may sound nice, but that's not as important as well executed HDR from capture, transmission through to the home reception and finally decoded onto our display devices.

On another item, I'm very proud to say I've been quoted and if I'm not mistaken thanked by you on more than one occasion. Thanks!

I thought I read there were interference problems that needed to be overcome with the high frequencies being created by 48 gbs data transfers, was it in the HDMI chips, connectors, and/ or cables??? Anyway...

Wonderful , I hope. Will there be Premium Certified versions available from the usual suspects ? I think I'll wait to see more availability of UHS HDMI cables before adding to my ever growing wiring collection.

Although I generally regard Belkin as a quality cable supplier. I just don't see a need to jump on these just this second.

What's HFR exactly? Isn't anything in 60fps or above considered to be HFR?

You Americans need to STOP GETTING CHOCOLATE WRONG. Cadbury's Dairy Milk (preferably with Daim bits) is heaven in choccy form. I've still got half a bar in my fridge right now.

It’s been my pleasure.
Along with your Blu-ray.com forum contributor advice, the personalized service you and your team offer in this dwindling age of brick and mortar dealers should not be underappreciated.

Hmm. I'll take a look. I know they sell that at the world market out here, but even when I lived in Europe (Italy) and travelled around I didn't find a milk chocolate I liked as much as a good dark. I did LOVE those Kinder Bueno bars though with the hazelnut stuff. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I'm curious, can anyone answer this for me. Is 4K really needed for movies that don't have any CGI in them. Wouldn't a Blu-Ray be just about the same?

You mean CGI, right? 4k, a greater pixel bit depth, HDR and a wide color gamut can be beneficial to any program.

Blu-ray is stuck at 8 bit and Rec 709 color and that has its technical limitations.

Netflix adds HDR10/Dolby Vision for Apple products.
  • iPad Pro (2nd generation)
  • iPhone 8
  • iPhone 8 Plus
  • iPhone X

Excellent news. Never thought it would come this quick. I am in the market for an iPad 10.5. However I do know, it has no AMOLED screen, but you will still get the benefits.

Now waiting for YouTube roll out the suppport. But it's Apple vs Google here.
