Someone at RED has good taste ….Ridin

P.S.
I’m wondering if that sensor will get into Panavision's DXL. Anyone know if Cioni is active on twitter or facebook?

A day later, Oct. 6th from an outside website that chased trademark apps -

Name they chose doesn't seem spiffy to me.
Kinda generic and no 'ring' to it.
Maybe it's better in Korean?

I’m barely proficient in some Chinese, e.g. to help Oppo fans around the time of the player’s launch - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...e#post12943937

and clueless in Korean, but even though English, I would think the name ‘Samsung Premier’ would be used in Korea, too, no?

An insider at AVS forum says that Samsung is contemplating a name change for HDR10+. Hopefully they do a better job of coming up with a new name for that than they did for their cinema displays.

Any news on this? I delayed watching the latest season but it seems only Westworld is getting the 4K/HDR treatment?

If your device supports YouTube HDR, you can see it there.

I also made a version that you can download and play directly on a 4K HDR TV:

Real 4K HDR: Cosmos Laundromat in HDR - YouTube
What did you get the source for this?

Other than spelling + out, i.e. HDR10 Plus….is a marketing name change really necessary at this point?
Video enthusiasts already comfortably refer to the format as HDR10+ as do industry folk, e.g. Transkoder techs delivering shows to Amazon in ‘HDR10+’, not some yet to-be-named format.

Max, zmarty can answer, I’ll say that raw renders were also provided to Netflix to grade. (16 bit)

The problem is that it may cause confusion among the "casuals" given Samsung's "HDR+" special viewing mode that simulates HDR.

Cool. I love reading stuff like that. It's stretching my understanding and is interesting at the same time. Many thanks

Back in the day when many on the web were speaking above their expertise by pontificating about the resolution of film and the native optical resolution of scanners, etc. a few here in our own Journal Club (Oliver K, myself, etc.) were assessing the real science of it all - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...an#post3546646

Although a bit dated now, scrolling down the list, the 2009 – Hans Kiening, for the paper “4K+ Systems: Theory Basics for Motion Picture Imaging.” April 2008 still makes some valid basic points regarding rez and may still be online for free somewhere.

P.S.
Somehow we recognize the potential and efforts of budding journal award recipients, for example, last year's (2016) winner, Thomas E. graced our discussion back in 2015 in order for folks to get the latest and greatest - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...s#post11167019 before the source content eventually leaked onto the internet.

Regarding the sense of sight, I think many of us here take excellent vision for granted (like an entitlement), but some are not so fortunate, e.g. -

And just recently locally - http://whotv.com/2017/10/08/californ...d-with-family/

So, a reminder for tomorrow –
