Seriously though, 4K@120 is a very nice feature for gaming, when most 4K PC monitors are still 60Hz. Now GPUs just need to catch up on the HDMI front, seeing as the DP developers seem to have given up on releasing actual products. |

https://www.tomshardware.com/uk/revi...44hz,6023.html There are tons of HRR PC displays that are over 60. And they don't lie about their spec. |

![]() I'm happy for them gamers but damn, it's hilarious how 2.1 has so little practical usage for day-to-day viewing. |

Right now, HDMI 2.1 is almost at the bottom of my wishlist for a new TV. ![]() |

worthwhile spec in that it's ^ to support the capture of 8K resolution content at 30 fps in 4:2:2 10-bit format in either Canon Log or HEVC (PQ) compression |

b.t.w., as some viewers are reporting an undersaturated, etc. look to the SDR version of Season 3 of Ozark, I posted this info yesterday to a good group

That and more ways to advertise at you. ATSC 3.0 is a joke in the U.S. There is no incentive to actually improve A/V quality and compression as most everything is coming from a streamed platform now, even some sports. Unfortunately, broadcasters here are not like NHK in Japan. 8k with 24 channel audio? Nope! Not in the U.S. |

Your NHK Satellite broadcasts are not what consumers would use anyways. ![]() Last edited by JohnAV; 05-05-2020 at 08:20 PM. Reason: typo |

Most regional broadcasters will be sharing their 6 Mhz channels so they will combine two 6 Mhz channels into one 12 Mhz channel for special programming that with be broadcast in 4K HDR. With all this said Paul and you are also correct that the broadcasters are looking forward to the new revenue opportunities they will have with more subcarrier channels and two-way feedback for buying products OTA. My favorite example of a great use for the new 2nd screen feed was done by an AZ PBS station that sent test messages to parents when their kids were watching a PBS channel and they gave the parents tips on how to engage the kids with questions on what they learned and to get the kids to talk about their understanding, feelings and opinions on what they watched on the PBS program. |
